Book Description

Fall in love with this sweet, sexy sugarkink romance -- a USA TODAY bestseller with over 100 five star reviews!

A man she's loved for years.

A marriage of necessity.
An impossible situation.

Lola Theroux wanted Roman Casta the moment she saw him. She knows she isn't special in that regard--every woman wants Roman Casta the moment she sees him. But Lola is the only one who knows why Roman doesn't do relationships, and she knows that he'll never see her as anything other than his best friend's little cousin--he'll always be her protector, never her lover. Even after five years of working together running New York's exclusive Club Volare, she's never caught his eye, and never had a chance to show him her submissive side.

Until a campaigning politician targets Club Volare, and the only way to save the club is to get married--to Roman.

Now they'll have to fool the public, the press, and their friends into thinking they're in love and in lust. For Lola, that isn't the hard part. The hard part is pretending to be Roman's sub without falling for a man she knows she can't have.

Until one night changes everything...

MARRYING THE MASTER is part of the Club Volare series, though like all the Club Volare books it's a stand alone story with an HEA. It's about 70,000 words intended for mature readers who like a little kink in their romance. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG Good! April 19, 2013
By Tiffany
Format:Kindle Edition
Ok, I'll start by saying that I'm not into the BDSM scene (not judging, just not into it) and this still a wonderful ROMANCE. I hope people that aren't into BDSM will still give this book (and the series) a chance because at its heart, it's still a (very sexy) romance.

I didn't read the first books (but I will now) but Marrying the Master was a stand alone book that you didn't NEED to read the others. (I'm sure it didn't hurt if you did.)

Roman and Lola have great chemistry and their story is sweet. (It's also believable, which is a nice thing that some romance novelists think is unnecessary.)

What to take from this review: Read this, (In fact, buy the series.) but keep an open mind and expect great sex.

5.0 out of 5 stars frustrating but worth it April 26, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this book because I saw it listed for $.99 and the synopsis/description sounded good... I was NOT disappointed. I hadn't heard about this series before I bought and read this book. I may now have to consider reading the others. This book can be read as a stand-alone (luckily for me).

Lola and Roman run a very exclusive BDSM club. When a politician threatens the club, the only way to save it is for them to get married. Not a problem for Lola, she's loved Roman since she first met him. She also knows she'll never actually have HIM since his heart is still pining for his late wife. Lola also happens to be the younger cousin of Roman's best friend.

After agreeing to marry him to protect the club, Lola finds that they not only have to convince the public that they are in love but they need convince the press and their friends as well.

Lola is a switch (dom AND sub) and Roman is a dom. Lola needs to act as Roman's sub! Lola hasn't been a 'successful' sub since her ex who broke her heart and lost her trust when he cheated on her. One night with Roman changes her whole world.

- a couple of time I wanted to reach through the book to slap one of the characters.
- the club was just a location, there were NO BDSM scenes that one would find in that kind of club. (I'm not big into BDSM so it was good for me)
- Roman's emotions occasionally went from 'dom' to lover in the blink of an eye
- Lola occasionally went from a strong woman to an emotional wreck in the blink of an eye

all-in-all, I still would recommend it

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read May 2, 2013
By Laura
Format:Kindle Edition
First read for me by this author. I came across this book and liked the product description. I haven't read the other books in the series and when I started the prologue, I realised I maybe should have as it spoke of things that had already occured. Not to worry though as Chapter One then started four days previously and went back over what had happened so it was easy to follow and worked OK as a standalone story.

Lola helps Roman run a BDSM Club. She has been in love with him for years but knows that he will never love another after his wife Samantha died. Lola has had other relationships and is a sub/dom but in her last relationship she was the sub but her Dom hurt her when she found out he was still sleeping with his ex wife.

From the background from the other books, Lola and Roman must marry to save their club. Although it is a marriage of convenience, they both give in to their attraction for one another and soon they are in a Dom/Sub relationship. I wouldn't say that Roman was that dominant but the sex scenes are very good.

One thing that I think would have worked better is if we never got Roman's POV until nearer the end. From the beginning we get his POV and it's obvious that he is attracted to Lola and has feelings for her. I would have preferred to be in the dark for most of the book about what he felt for her and it would have added more to the story.

I enjoyed the authors writing style and will read more in this series.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 - decent read July 20, 2013
By Jessi
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Unfortunately, 50 Shades of Grey kind of left a bitter taste in my mouth. After all of the raving reviews, I finally gave in and read it only to want to erase my memory immediately after. It's unfortunate that people consider that a well written book. Now I have trust issues. How can I possibly trust people to recommend me a good book without having horrifying flashbacks of the book that must not be named. Eventually I wanted something different to read in the romance category and I gave into Marrying the Master. Guess what? It's good! Why?

To start, this is well written. Though I did find a couple of mistakes, it is not full of sentence fragments, missing punctuation, spelling errors, and poor grammar. It's amazing that even some of the worst books I've read I can at least find a good point about them because the writing was readable. Chloe does a great job with this novel and I assume she had an editor on her side.

Also, the dialog is good which is a HUGE yay or nay factor as to whether or not I can step into the book and loose myself. I'm not that familiar with this genre. I'll be honest, this was only my 4th book of this type (can you guess the first three?). But I think it's fairly easy to tell if the dialog fits the situations well no matter the subgenre. At no point did I feel like it was awkward, unrealistic, or laughably unintelligent.

Surprisingly, the D/s scenes aren't that shocking. There were not any scenes where subjects were forced or even sexually tortured too much. It's all really believable (for those of us that don't have experience with that ;) ) and the scenes are actually quite moving.

Another plus, the characters are well done and the plot of the story is interesting.

Decent read and BDSM is there, but light and kept to a minimum. The intensity in the sex scenes is there, but it's not OMG shocking like 50 SOG. I like Lola a lot. Read more
