5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Warm -- A Keeper!
If you like western historical romance, pick up this gem! The chemistry between mail-order bride Minda and cowboy (and unlikely groom) Brix sizzles. You'll laugh and cry with them as their story unfolds. Ms. Hanson's warm voice is perfect for this genre. You won't be disappointed!

1.0 out of 5 stars Good Idea Gone Bad, Very Very Bad
I wanted to like this book, why else would I have bought it? The idea of a mail order bride marrying the brother because her groom had died sounded good. But the only likable person as far as I good tell was Norman and he died before the story started. Brix should have been spelled with a P because that summed up what I thought of him. This so called romantic hero rushed...

Marrying Minda is a quick, entertaining read for anyone who loves western historical romances. Well written and well edited, Marrying Minda keeps the pages turning with lots of action and excellent dialogue. Tanya Hanson is a writer to watch! Thanks, Ms. Hanson, for a wonderfully written, rip-roarin' page turner. I can't wait for the sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Sweet Romance That Keeps the Pages Turning!, July 28, 2009
This review is from: Marrying Minda (Paperback)
I picked up Marrying Minda just the other morning, and thought I would spend a half hour getting a taste of the novel, meet the characters and then get some work done. After just one chapter into the book, not only was I captivated by the charming Minda, but I was hooked by the mysterious and sexy Brix. Needless to say, I got none of my to do list done, but I spent a day in a quaint small town getting to know Minda and Brix and fell in love them as I watched their story unfold. A sweet charmer of a story and lovely characters. I hope you enjoy it as I did!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great romance, sweet love, June 30, 2009
This review is from: Marrying Minda (Paperback)
A great read, couldn't put it down. A stunning romance on the prairie. Through many twists and turns, Minda and Brixton find romance, love, and a happy family. Very true to the Nebraska area where it takes place.

I wanted to like this book, why else would I have bought it? The idea of a mail order bride marrying the brother because her groom had died sounded good. But the only likable person as far as I good tell was Norman and he died before the story started. Brix should have been spelled with a P because that summed up what I thought of him. This so called romantic hero rushed Minda into marrying him without telling her he was not the man she had been writing. He convinced a whole town of upstanding citizens to go along with the deceit, even the minnister. He blamed Minda for his brother's death, he thought fixing the place up for her had killed his brother, even though the doctor told him his brother's heart had been severly weakened by the fever that had swept through the town a few years earlier killing his sister-in-law and her baby. The doctor told him his brother could have died at anytime since the fever. So after marrying her he keeps threatening to abandon her so he can go back to his free life as a cowboy (what a jerk) and she will be left to care for the three kids on her own. Meanwhile Minda is appaled to find that there is more than one child and all under ten, she is tired of carrying for other people's children, having raised her two sisters on her own since her mother died. So she agrees to stay married just long enought to pay back the traveling expenses and then she is leaving too. No one cares about the three little kids? Well the ministers wife wants the littlest girl, but not the others. I tried to force myself to finish this book but why? I just got angrier at these characters. There are so many books out there that I know I will enjoy that I quit reading it. I would have thrown it away but I bought it on Kindle so it is stuck there forever.
