The Preacher takes a wife, January 7, 2012
this is book two in the series and focuses on Greg's cousin, Matthew.
This was a pretty interesting one. Heather had been jilted in front of the whole town by when her fiancee didn't show up for the wedding, but had his private investigator deliver her the news that shattered her world forever. She was up the isle facing the true man she loved, and what did she do? She threw her bouquet at him and ran away!!!
Now she's back to help with the tornado damage. She doesn't planning on staying long, but once she's there will she ever leave?
A side story in this one is about Matthew's niece, who was sent to live with him after she started running with a crowd. I must say I loved this story and the way the next to last scene played out - after she learned the truth. These people are far from perfect, and the author allows us to see this. I loved how Avery stated, "I get it but I don't like it." That's an honest answer from a teenager that is trying to turn around. I respect Michael for what he's doing for his niece.
The story was rather slow, but it was still a good story. Of course, we get to see all the characters from the first book again! Greg and Maya get married in the book, and her wedding bouquet plays a part in the uncle/niece reconciliation scene. We only get a glimpse of the small boy who's being fostered by Greg. We meet Maya's newly widowed brother, and again visit the Sheriff. They all play a part later in the series.
And of course the missing ring, Kasey, and the dog are mentioned but not resolved...
Gotta read the next book.

Amazing Series, July 13, 2010
All of the books in the After The Storm series are incredibly well written with a differnt flavor in each book as they are written by different authors, yet all follow the same themes and are very cohesive. Highly recommend this entire series!
