This manga is one of the best serieses out there. It has the essential element of a teen soap opera without the completely unrealistic elements. It centers around two teenagers, Kira, 16, and Rei, 17, who meet and for some reason are drawn irrevocably to one another even though they seem like complete opposites. Rei is a motorcycle racer with a wealthy background, and Kira is a poor, but extremely talented artist that feels withdrawn from the world. Both see and bring out in one another what no one else is able to see. This volume picks up when they truely begin forming a relationship with one another and we begin to see a bit of Rei's past. It is a truely heart-wrenching and absorbing story that I consider the best shoujo teen Graphic Novel in circulation in the U.S. right now beside Paradise Kiss. I hope that anyone will find as much pleasure with this title as I continue to.

MARS, the manga series by Fuyumi Soryo, is quite possibly one of the best series I have ever read. The two main characters are Rei Kashino, a rebellious biker who wears his delinquency like a badge, and Kira Aso, a shy, guy-phobic artist. The two have a chance meeting one day in the park, when Rei asks Kira where the medical center is. Having recognized him, she draws him a map, and runs in the opposite direction. Their relationship starts and blossoms from there, but with unfortunate interruptions. I highly recommend these books to anyone who would enjoy a romantic but saddening storyline and great art.
