This item was fantastic for grooming my wire haired dachshund. Easy to use, and my finicky dog loved being combed with it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Knots or Heavy Matting, June 26, 2007
This review is from: Mars Coat King Stripping Comb XFine (Misc.)
I use this on my Persians if they develop a heavy mat.

It is easy to use and gets easier the more you use it.

My Persians (with a few exceptions) don't mind it at least they don't complain. They are very used to it and when used correctly doesn't hurt them.

Recommended for heavy coated dogs and cats with a double coat.

For dogs with long coats who are prone to getting mats, this is the best tool. The blades cut the hair with out pulling.

4.0 out of 5 stars MARS COAT KING, May 12, 2007

That it is really easy to use and the dogs seem to like it. It is much better than shaving mv Cocker's back. It is easier than stripping the Scottie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, August 9, 2007
This review is from: Mars Coat King Stripping Comb XFine (Misc.)
I used a friend's Coat King on a rescue dog and was impressed that it works so well to remove matted hair and tangles. I finally bought one for myself and am kicking myself for taking so long to do it! It takes out the hair that would become matts and is gentle to the dog. This doesn't just fix a messy coat, it prevents it too.

This is exactly what I needed to keep my American Cocker Spaniel's fur on her back in beautiful shape! She doesn't seem to mind me combing it through her fur. In fact, it sort of relaxes her! Her back always looks so shiny and healthy now. The groomer is quite pleased when I bring her in for grooming because she has been kept up so nicely. I would recommend this product!

Not ever having had a terrier that needed stripping before, in Feb I took my 6 month old wire fox to a groomer, not realize that saying 'strip my dog' meant shaving her bald. Now in June, she's grown enough hair to try to rebuild the lovely wire coat, but I was unable to locate any groomer who hand strips, at any price. I tried ordering a DVD to instruct me in the art of stripping, but everywhere I looked, it was out of stock. I was going to simply order a stripping knife and have a go at my dog's coat, figuring I couldn't possibly wreck it more than the groomer had, when I stumbled across the reviews for the #10 Mars stripper, and ordered it instead. I got it today, after very prompt shipping from Revival Animal Health, and just finished using it. We're on the road to coat recovery! And my dog holds still for it, unlike anything else. I immediately placed an order for the #20 for fine tuning. What a great invention!

Mars Coat King Stripper was recommended to us as the only tool her dog would let her use. I got it and it is great. Both dogs let us use it and the results are just what we hoped. Long or dead hair disappeared. The only problem is over using it. Crew cuts on dogs could happen as it is so easy to use.

I have had my English Cokers for more then 4 years and no one told me about this stripper! I read about it in the AKC Gazette Breed Column. It works best after a bath when the dog is wet. You can get out a lot of hair that way and it is not as messy because the wet hair does not fly away. Dogs like it better then the stripping blade, stripping stone, or furminator. It also does not harm the outer coat as that needs to be prederved for the show ring. Great tool!

This is the 2nd M.C.King stripper I've bought. I have a Cairn terrier and have used this with great success. The dog tolerates it well and her coat looks trim and well kept and it preserves her hard outer coat.
