5.0 out of 5 stars Good read--but not only by Sagan, January 18, 2012
This review is from: Mars and the mind of man (Hardcover)
I've long owned this stimulating collection of essays gathered by Bruce Murray from a public discussion he organized on behalf of Caltech in preparation for Mariner 9's arrival at Mars. Murray gives credit to Frances Lindley and Patrica Dunbar for their assistance in organizing the book.

The essays by Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Bruce Murray, Carl Sagan, and Walter Sullivan give their personal -- more than their scientific -- insights on Mars. It's definitely a worthwhile read, giving a range of perceptions of Mars from the 1970s. It's only possible flaw is that it is now outdated -- but that's what old books are for.
