If you've ever read the "Mediterranean Noir" novels of Marseilles native Jean-Claude Izzo, you will know that Massalia Sound System is part of the multi-culti teen rebel soundtrack for France's oldest and most racially mixed city. From the urban bars to the semi-tropical seafront, Italians, Africans, Arabs, Occitan-speakers...are all asserting their right to cultural and socio-political equality with the Northern French. On this record they are collaborating with the London reggae/dub scene.
