5.0 out of 5 stars More than a fabulous cover!, June 12, 2001

This great cover hooked me, but it was the characters who drew me in. Jo O'Malley is determined to extract vigilante justice for the murder of her husband, but comes smack up against US Marshal Fletcher Collins. Author Julianne MacLean layers complication after complication until it seems impossible that love can be allowed to bloom between these two. The prose is action-packed, the pace fast, and the plot twists are guaranteed to make you wring your hands. A very satisfying read!

Finally a Hero who doesn't make it through the story physically unscathed. With guns there has to be repercussions!

[chuckle! chuckle!] The first day on the job and U.S. Marshal Fletcher Collins gets shot. By the most unexpected character!

Mrs. Jospehine O'Malley is out for vigilante justice but only because she believes it to be the only way to keep herself and her son safe. Dadgumm Leo, he wants to help solve the mystery of why his father was killed.

So knowing what she thinks she knows, Jo fears for Leo's safety.
She probably can't trust the Marshal, he may be a bought man.

The Marshal has a very disturbing mystery on his hands. How did Mrs. O'Malley get shot without haveing her dress on?

What an explanation! It sure stirs up unwanted emotions in Fletch's heart. Well, he is not a marrying man so what he feels for Jo does not make a difference. He has the law to uphold.

The story sure keeps ones interest and waiting to see what happens next. Definitely a keeper.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -- I have found a lot of good books lately - hope you have too.

Marshall Fletcher Collins and Mrs. Jo O'Malley are living on two different sides of the law. He's vowed to protect the town from the very thing she's determined to do! Charming, witty, spicy -- the book is impossible to put down. A fantastic read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great read, June 18, 2001
This review is from: Marshal And Mrs. O'Malley (Harlequin Historical) (Paperback)
Well, Julianne has done it again. Another wonderfully fast paced story with great tension and more layers than the heroine's petticoat. The twists are delightful, and her characters are so realistic and natural, this story is without a doubt one of my keepers! I highly recommend this story. It's riveting right up to the action packed ending which ties everything up nicely.
