About the Author

Angela Perrault Kirschner enjoys education, outdoor activities, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. Angela grew up in Waterford, Michigan, before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, in her junior year of high school. She then attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan, where she earned a Business Management-Marketing degree in just 3 years. After graduation, Angela worked for an advertising firm in the Detroit area. Later, she discovered her love for teaching and went back to school earning Masters in Education degree from the University of Phoenix.  Angela has lived in the Phoenix area since 2004 where she taught in a special needs preschool and taught middle school science and math. Here, Angela earned a unique Leadership award from SAE International for her work pairing General Motor retirees with her 7th grade Science students to learn about gears in a fun and memorable way. While teaching, Angela also enjoyed coaching basketball. Her passion for education has increased even more since she had her son, Ethan, whom she adores spending time with and reading books to. While she misses the classroom, she has taken up triathlons, writing books, and teaching Ethan.

William Kirschner grew up the son of an Air Force officer and lived throughout the United States. Born in California, he lived in Massachusetts, Virginia, Louisiana, Ohio, and Michigan before eventually settling in Arizona in 2004. Growing up, he visited over 40 states with his family and developed his love for travel during this time. He met his wife, Angela, at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan, where he earned a degree in both Chemistry and Business Management-Finance. Following graduation from college, he went into banking and spent time as a credit analyst before becoming a commercial loan officer. Shortly after moving to Arizona, Bill became involved with the Valley of the Sun YMCA as a member of their Board of Directors, where he’s able to help support kids and families in the communities served by the Valley of the Sun YMCA. When he has some free time, Bill enjoys preparing for the family’s next travel adventure, teaching Ethan about the world around him, and training for triathlons.

What a great book. I love the concept! And the illustrations are awesome.
I like the idea that it's a book the kids can grow up with.
The pre-school section (the rhymes) catch and maintain their attention.
Then as they get older the "text section" covers details the children need for their school assignments. I think I read on the author's website that the text covers everything required for state standards.

The website to go along with the book is great! I'm not a teacher, but I would think the lesson plans would be a real plus for teachers.

I do like the crafts. The instructions are easy to follow and it was a fun craft to do.

All together, just a well thought out concept.

I see the author is diong Michigan next. I'm looking forward to it coming out and collecting all 50 books in the future.
