The book did just what I hoped: included plenty of factual and historical information, assembled it well, made a powerful picture of the character of George Marshall, and was enjoyable to read with good pace and flow. I backed off from giving it 5 stars because it did not have the electrifying quality of, say, Robert Caro's LBJ biography. However, I would still recommend it for being both enjoyable and informative, and a good choice for anybody wanting to learn more about an important and too-little-known hero.
