Ferret Fun,
By Biomgs (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Marshall Ferret Octo-Play (Misc.)
This toy combines two activities ferrets love. Running through tubes and sleeping in soft cuddly spots. This was a hit with my brood of four fuzzies. The toy washes well and takes up only a small amount of space while being stored.*Supervision is a must for any baby ferrets as they occasionally like to chew/eat soft toys.

My ferret sleeps in it sometimes, and it's fun to put treats in it so she'll have to go in and explore.

I bought this for my rats and they love it. They run around and play in the arms and then cuddle up for a nap inside the octopuss' head. Some of the rittens like to try to climb to the top. Anyway, fun for all!

Great Toy,

This product is great. Your curious ferret will go in and out of the tentacles of it all day. This won't be another ferret toy that goes to waste, that they won't like.

I actually got this for rats, instead of ferrets. My rats all love it. My oldest boy gets excited and practically does a dance when he sees me getting it out for play time (he's 2 1/2--very old guy!--and there are very few things that get him that excited) They all love running through it (and sometimes under or over it), chasing each other, wrestling in it, napping in it...it's everyone's favorite! It seems to be pretty durable, too (it's been washed twice in the washer and has held up just fine). Just the fact that my little ratties love it so much makes it well worth it and I'll be glad to buy another one should I ever need to.

Decent Toy, suitable for multiple ferrets,

Good construction of material and quality. Well worth the money.Although the quality was good, this toy was not very suitable for a solo ferret. Too many holes and ways to let light in to be a real "hiding spot". Would probably be better for multiple critters to chase each other or play. I also own the elephant from marshal, ferret liked that one better.

Favorite toy over many others,

I had three little furry beasts and they loved this thing. It cleans up well enough in the washer so it was easy to kee[ the ferret odor down a bit.

I keep this outside of my ferrets cage in their playroom. My ferrets have lots, and I mean LOTS of toys and things to play with in their room yet they always spend at least few minutes playing in this. Not one day since I've gotten this, have they ever not played in it and I've had it for about a year. Its easy to wash and hasn't faded at all. I always find one of my ferrets sleeping in it everyday after she is done playing.

Ferrets Love It, But Hard to Clean,
By
This review is from: Marshall Ferret Octo-Play (Misc.)
My ferrets love this toy, but it is extremely hard to get clean because, with all the fabric tubes, you can never completely flip it inside out to get the inside clean. I retired this toy early due to dirtiness.

Rats love, Owner tolerates,
This review is from: Marshall Ferret Octo-Play (Misc.)
I bought this octopus for my 2 female rats, even though it's intended for ferrets. When I had it on the floor while they were running around the house, they didn't give it much interest. Then, I put it in their cage at night only to find it torn apart the next morning. I thought this meant that they hated it. As it turns out, they were just tweaking it to make it "better" for them. I don't keep it in their cage all the time, but when I do, they never leave the thing. They love sleeping in it.Pros: -My rats LOVE this -It's warm and cuddly, but well-ventilated -I throw it in the washer and dryer to clean it (note: wash it alone because the red dye bleeds like crazy, so don't be surprised if you do this and the white stars become pink and the eyes fade) Cons: -If you have rats, this thing will get chewed A LOT -- the bits of foam that line the head will end up everywhere and they are a pain to clean up -It takes up a lot of space **if you choose to keep it in their cage** -Bits of food and litter get stuck to the fabric -It gets stinky pretty quickly (this statement is at least true for me because my rats pee in their beds sometimes) I debated between 3 and 4 stars on this one because, as the owner, it was frustrating at first having to clean up the bits of foam and fabric all over the cage, then hand-washing it to get out all the bits of food, but my rats are crazy about this stuffed octopus and switched to machine washing. In the end, it's about the pets. Other than my Wodent Wheel, I haven't seen my rats love any other toy/bed more than this octopus. |
