This is one fun bow and arrow. You need not worry about the marshmallows hurting anyone, even if they're fired at point blank range. Everyone from the adults to the six-year olds in our family loved this toy.

We did find a couple of drawbacks. The marshmallows get jammed fairly easily, and you can't reuse the marshmallows once they've been fired. Also, the bow doesn't shoot with much accuracy, especially beyond about 15 feet. That's not to say that these negatives detract from the toy's enjoyment.

UPDATE: A peice broke off that keeps the suction. I was watching when it happened so I know he wasn't doing anything too rowdy with it. Fun while it lasted.

This thing is great. It was a hit at my son's sleep over. I bought generic marshmallows and did not have any problems with it jamming. The marshmallows really fly out of the thing...not vast distances but 20-30 feet.

Only negative is trying to locate all the marshmallows after they have been shot off. (I don't want ground in marshmallows all over my carpet.)

Product is a lot of fun when it works. But, most of the time marshmallows get stuck and the bow will not shoot them.

My son got this toy as a gift in early November 2009. It looked like so much fun. Unfortunately it doesn't work. There is too much friction in the compression tube so the marshmallow barely dribbles out of the barrel. I called the company explained the problem and that I did not have a receipt, but that I still had all of the original packaging. They said that they were currently out of stock but that I could take it to any Academy or Toys-R-Us for a replacement. When I went to the Toys-R-Us I was told that I had to have a receipt, no exceptions. At Academy I was told that they don't carry the item. I then contacted the company again and was given all kinds of excuses and eventually a refusal of their original offer to replace it. I would NEVER buy this item. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't and the company doesn't stand behind their product.

We have learned to NOT use the oddly shaped marshmallows, and not to get the marshmallows HOT, that will create the sticky mess people refer too. However the entire thing is dishwasher safe.

We have found that loading the tube sideways prevents the marshmallows from getting turned sideways which will jam the bow.

I have to tell you, this is absolutely our favorite thing, what a GREAT way to get your kids active. Even our dog enjoys it, he gets excited the moment we pick it up.

I am 22 and think this is hysterical, my husband is 30, and LOVES it, and our nephew who is 14 thinks this is the greatest thing ever.

We also own two shooters, so we have frequent marshmallow battles.

I do have to say, I would not give this to small children, there is quite a bit of tension when putting the bow together, and while I do not imagine that it will come apart easily, I fear that if it did, it could cause some pain.

I bought 2 so that my boys could play together. Both broke within 24 hrs. I managed to superglue them and one still works but the other died. They were so much fun though, my boys favorite gift this christmas!

My son got this bow as a gift for Christmas (with the pack of red pellets). We had 4 different, mechanical men trying to figure out how to shoot the bow without it getting jammed every time. We almost gave up on it. Then, I decided to give the marshmallows a try before sending it to the land of misfit toys. It is definitely a "marshmallow" shooter. It worked great with the marshmallows, but horrible with the red pellets. No jams at all with the marshmallows. It is a great gift. Every boy gravitated to this toy even when it wasn't working. My son is 5 and he can work it well. I think any child younger than 5 would have difficulty pulling the bow back.

We gave this to our 5 yr old son, when we were in the hospital having our 2nd son. The staff was fighting over who got to shoot it next, including my Dr.!!!! It's so much fun even the adults can't put it down!

Gave as gift and was very entertaining the whole evening. Safe around kids and animals. Shot the mini marshmellows nicely.

I ordered this for my 5 yr. old nephew and he loved it! I thought it was a great toy for the price and it is a nice, solid toy. Based on other reviews, we only loaded the smaller of the mini marshmallows out of the bag and it worked great! It does, however, sometimes shoot two marshmallows out instead of one, but the only other problem that we had with it was that E kept eating the marshmallows off the ground after he shot them.
Great gift for a child or an adult!
