5.0 out of 5 stars Camping and spooky stories go hand in hand, April 30, 2010
This review is from: The Case of the Marshmallow Monster (Jigsaw Jones Mystery, No. 11) (Paperback)
Jigsaw Jones and the Marshmellow Monster was a great story. I think all of us have gone camping and sat around the campfire telling scary stories. The question is which stories are real and which ones are made up? When one of the grown ups at the camping trip tells of a monster that lives in the lake the kids want to believe it was all just a story, but just to be sure they left out a treat for him to eat. When the marshmellows are gone in the morning, the camp is all aghast as to who or what ate the marshmellows. The only way to find out who... or what it was is to read the book for yourself.

I love a good mystery book and now with the Jigsaw Jones series my children can enjoy them too. I trully enjoy reading the James Preller series about Jigsaw Jones. My son and I have read two of them so far, but I'm sure there will be more to come.

Purchased this for my seven year old grandson and he loves it. For a child with a vivid imagination and who likes camping, this book is is really entertaining as they can relate to what's happening. After all, who isn't afraid of something when they're out camping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series to get 1st and 2nd graders to read for fun, January 7, 2010
This review is from: The Case of the Marshmallow Monster (Jigsaw Jones Mystery, No. 11) (Paperback)
Both my son and daughter read all of the books in the series in 1st and second grade. They recommended that I buy these for my nephews who are 6 and 8 respectively and so we bought each of them the first two books in the series. The series is similar to the books I enjoyed such as the three investigators, freddy the pig, and encyclopedia brown with encyclopedia brown being the most similar. The books are a mix of humor and suspense.
