5.0 out of 5 stars Marpac Sound Conditioners are a Sound Investment
The Marpac sound conditioners are, without question, the best. I've used various devices to achieve white noise. I can say with considerable experience that the Marpac ones are more durable and worth every penny. 1.0 out of 5 stars Power please?
Mine arrived with no way to turn it on. There's a jack in it, but nothing that goes in the jack, like maybe an adapter with a plug so it can be connected to a wall socket? Is that too much to ask? I returned it.

The Marpac sound conditioners are, without question, the best. I've used various devices to achieve white noise. I can say with considerable experience that the Marpac ones are more durable and worth every penny. This version (the TSCi) has the distinct advantage of having a built-in voltage coverter which permits it to be used outside the US with only a plug adapter (the European adapter is included). Some years ago, my husband "fried" a previous white noise machine by plugging it in without the voltage adapter and I realized that it's a very handy feature. Likewise, the Marpac products last a lot longer than those made by other companies. We've had several from Sharper Image whose connections have broken out in no time. My husband has a mechanical machine which is >20 yrs. old; I've one which is >15 yrs. old. This smaller, electronic version, is perfect for travel (or home). We just returned from a week-long trip to Europe and it worked fabulously. My husband frequently travels to Africa where power outages are common and hotels are very noisy. He's looking forward to using it with the optional battery pack on his next trip.

I bought this for travel in Europe to use in place of my Marpac home unit. It is compact and works well on European current (with a small plug adapter). Drowned out street noises very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars It pleased the hard to please!, August 22, 2007
My husband really needs his white noise to sleep, and right now he uses an air filter fan that suffices. But now, he loves his Marsona. He's very sensitive to "patterns" in his white noise, and with the Marsona he was able to manually create the white noise by adjusting its dials. He travels a lot, and never can find good white noise, now it won't be a problem.

NYC and noisy (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews
We have the big analog version at home to drown out NYC traffic and whatnot. This travel version is great and portable and travels well internationally.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product for improving sleep quality., August 3, 2008

Excellent sound quality really fools the mind into thinking you are listening to natural effects. Improves the sleep quality even when there is very little background noise. Very good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Travel Essential, July 6, 2008

This review is from: Marsona TSCI-330 Travel Sound Conditioner (Health and Beauty)
This unit goes everywhere to mask out intrusive night noise. It is very effective for all but the loudest noises, or very low frequency noises.

It is of solid construction, made in the USA. I have not opened it up, but it seems to be hand assembled, like radios and TVs of decades past.

I have 2 complaints:

1-The speaker is too small. The sound range seems overly narrow due to this. An output for use by headphones or a larger amplifier would be useful.
2-The controls are in very odd, non-intuitive locations and functionality, making it seem a bit like a school science fair project box.

I wasn't sure if this unit would be loud enough to make any difference due to it's small size, but it puts out a good amount of noise. It doesn't "loop" either, like the cheaper imitations. I highly recommend this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Marsona TLC330, October 22, 2008

Great! covers the sound of cars, pipes, toilet flushing. Light and easy to carry around. The international model allows you not to take any transformer.

4.0 out of 5 stars an ocean in the bedroom, January 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great product, just a couple of issues:

1) the on/off slider is a bit flimsy
2) I wish the deeper waves sound went louder. The 'rain' noise goes extremely loud, but it's not a very pleasant noise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most outstanding white noise machine to date........., October 30, 2009
This review is from: Marsona TSCI-330 Travel Sound Conditioner (Health and Beauty)
Love this even better than I thought I would. It's much smaller than previous models. It has a lot of versatility packed in one little unit. Very user friendly and keeps me asleep each night. Also love that I can travel out of the country with this little guy, too.
