5.0 out of 5 stars Thick, Soft, Absorbent and Inexpensive
I purchased 7 2-packs of these bath towels along with the bonus hand towels and using a coupon that was available for Kitchen and Housewares paid less than $52 for all 14 bath towels and 14 hand towels. The towels are very thick and are the softest towels I have ever encountered. The towels that I recieved were 30" x 54" though not the 35" x 54" that...

2.0 out of 5 stars not what I expected
oversized is a big word for these towels and the quality of the cotton used is very low. I washed them once and they already shrank. What is worse is that they keep loosing pieces of cotton. After I dry with them, I have to spend 5 minutes getting rid of cotton bits stuck on my skin. Definitely a disappointing product even for its low price

The towels are very thick and are the softest towels I have ever encountered. The towels that I recieved were 30" x 54" though not the 35" x 54" that Amazon has listed. Martex is a brand of Westpoint Stevens who makes towels for many department stores like J.C. Penny. I had just purchased 4 of J.C Pennys better store brand towels for much more than I paid at Amazon several weeks prior to receiving these and the Martex towels here at Amazon are much thicker, larger, and softer. After about 8 washings of both brand towels these towels still look brand new where the Pennys towels are already looking worn. I have had no problems with the towels shedding fuzz as one reviewer noted. Stitching is good and they don't shrink or pucker on the end with the three-stripe dobby border.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product at an excellent price, September 3, 2004
I didn't know what to expect when I ordered these towels. I bought several sets on sale - white, ivory, tan, mauve and cinnamon. I bought them with the washcloths "buy both and save". I prewashed them after they arrived. They washed and dried just fine, no fraying or excessive shedding. I have never bought Egyptian cotton before and was amazed at how thick these towels are. They are the softest towels I have ever owned. I must have ordered the oversized towels, as they are larger than the other bath towels I own. They are wonderful to wrap yourself in after your shower and are very absorbent. The washcloths are super soft and also oversized, especially compared to other washcloths I have purchased in the past. Even my husband commented how nice he thought the towels were. I was very surprised - and glad - to see Made In U.S.A. on the tag. I would buy these towels again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Martex Brands, July 14, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Martex Egyptian Big Bath Towel 2-Pack Towel, Navy (Kitchen)
I have always used the Martex brands, the overall quality is excellent. I find by using proper care instructions the products far exceed my expectations for life expectancy. The choice of colors is excellent and the towels are very soft and absorbent. I find that once I have laundered the units the linting is minimal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value, October 27, 2004

I waited for a while before commenting. Yes they do give off some fiber initially but not excessively. They are thirsty - one wipe and your dry. Very good value ratio- price/quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trust Martex product, July 17, 2004
By A Customer
I have always purchased Martex towels and keep an eye out for special sales and save more offers. This is a great deal and I was thrilled to stock up. Egyptian cotton is soft and absorbs moisture so my family loves to use these towels. They also hold up well in the wash and I have never had an issue with fraying edges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality!, July 16, 2004

This review is from: Martex Egyptian Big Bath Towel 2-Pack Towel, Navy (Kitchen)
Just received an order of these towels. They are the softest towel I have ever had. They are thick, but not too thick to dry my grandbaby. The bath size is large, but not too large. This is an awesome buy, these towels are a premium quality.

These towels shed. After seven washings, they still shed, and leave fuzz everywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars best value, October 10, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought two sand color bath towels months ago. Very thick and soft. I wash them lots of time and they still look quite new. Now the price goes down again and I ordered two blue mist big bath towels.

I visited many stores and found out this is the best towel you can get with 5$.

At this price you can't go wrong. After the first wash they are soft and absorbant. I am replacing Martex towels that I have had for 10 years (still going strong) because they don't match my new decor.

Oh, and they dry fine in my dryer. ;-)
