This blanket is a cheap imitation of the quality vellux blankets I have purchased over the years. It is not soft; the texture is very strange. It also actually left a peculiar coating on my hands. It's also suspicious that it was in a clear bag and the only label was "queen 90x90"; no other identifying marks or labels on bag or blanket itself. Amazon, I think you've been duped as I know I was.

Well it's a blanket and it's sort of ivory....but it's not the Martex Vellux that I've come to know. The packing was suspicious. Lots of tape, no labels but made in China. It's heavy, wrinkled, and not particularly soft. I bought this for my 90's something father who lives in Florida. He needed a replacement of his old vellux and we love these blankets because they are soft, light, and easy to make the bed with because they are slightly stiff. This is the first time I have been disappointed with an Amazon order. It's hard to find vellux blankets these days. But this sourceMartex Vellux Blanket Ivory Kingdoes not give you the real thing!!!!

I was very unhappy with the quality of this blanket. My other Martex Velux blankets were very soft. This one was course and rough to the touch -- not something I would want on my bed.

I've owned vellux blankets for more than 5 years. When I change the bed, EVERYTHING gets washed - including the blankets. I go through comforters like crazy but the vellux blankets still look like new. No change in color, feel or texture after literally hundreds of washes. The blankets aren't especially warm, need to go between the sheet and comforter in the winter. But in the summer just a sheet and vellux blanket is comfortable without being too hot.

I've enjoyed high-quality and durable Vellux blankets in the past, but the current version, made in China, is a huge disappointment. When I took off the packaging, I was overcome by a strong chemical smell. After I left the blanket out all night to out-gas, the smell pervaded the entire room. The blanket still smells after being washed once. I'm washing it again but unsure it will ever be usable.

I bought 2 new Martex Vellux - made in China which I don't mind but the off-gassing smell is horrible. I've washed them, and they have been airing out on my back porch for a week and they still smell awful. They are beautiful and soft but if I can't get the smell out, they'll have to go. Back to the washing machine...

It was not the true color that was shown. But it fading and getting to the true color. It also had 2 dark stripes on the blanket. Has a problem tearing at the top, at the border. Having to replace to often.
