I bought this table for several reasons; 1. my dog is huge and had a habit of coming over to the table during dinner and resting his face on it while we ate, with a counter height table he can no longer do this. 2. I moved and wanted something that would fit in the space well. 3. I like the dark color/style.

Things you should know: this is a dark chocolate/espresso color, not black! It was pretty easy to put together, I did it by myself in maybe an hour and a half. I'm surprised actually that I haven't had to tighten any of the screws up since I first put it together (with kids using the table it gets a lot more wear and tear than in a house without kids). It is however made out of inexpensive material (you get what you pay for). I wanted something that would last a couple years until I finish up college and move again, and I think this table set is perfect for my purposes. The top of the table is laminante so I wouldn't recommend placing hot plates/pots directly on the table or the glue may release causing a bubble (I know this because the first (damaged) table I received had a big crack/bubble in the top sheet. The only real issue I had was that the first 2 tables they shipped me were damaged in shipping so it took a lot longer than I would have liked to actually get my order.

We ordered this last year and have been very pleased. The putting together of the table was easy enough for one person who is handy with tools and putting together furniture. The only complaint would be that when putting the chairs together, some of the screws are a touch too long and if screwed in tightly enough can split the wood on the other side. Looks great put together!
