5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Put the Little Guy Down, May 12, 2011
This review is from: Martin Classical Nylon Backpacker Guitar
Wow. Bought this because I am traveling abroad for a few months, and plan on living out of the ol backpack. The backpacker's guitar was a logical choice. Looks pretty weird and impossible to play without a strap. However, once you get past the awkwardness, this actually feels like a martin. While the action is a little high, the fret board feels like the martin guitars I only get to touch in the stores!! Sound is also nice, all things considered. It has a banjo-like twang, which can be odd at first, but played by the campfire the other night, and I think it added to the folky type sing along music. The best part of the Martin Backpacker is the fact that it is like a toy. I really can't put it down. I have a law exam tomorrow , and i have played for hours rather than study ... and I dont care!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Christmas Present, October 15, 2011

I don't know much about guitars so it was a big risk when I decided to surprise my husband with the martin backpacker but it paid off big-this is far and away the happiest he's ever been with any gift!
He plays classic guitars, (not steel string) so finding a martin with nylon was the trick

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool little guitar. ^^, October 7, 2011

This guitar is really cool. It sounds pretty good for the size. It tends to be a little off though, so you will have to re-tune it often. I brought it on a backpacking trip and it was really refreshing to have some music in the middle of the wilderness. All you have to do is strap it to the outside of your pack, and you're good to go! That's why I love this little guitar: it's so easy to travel with and it's great to have in the back country. It probably doesn't deserve the full 5 stars, but it's so unique and handy, I just had to give it to 'em.

The sound is amazing for the size of the instrument. It surprised me but, thinking things over, I would expect Martin to always produce a quality product. Still, it was hard to believe such a small, and weird-looking guitar would sound so good (as well as being very playable).
