This review is from: Martin: The Complete Third Season (DVD)
This is the one when martin and gina get married get this get them all they were on to something they could of beat the cosby show in my opinion if it would of went on longer 2 more seasons then gina says sexual harrastment then the show ends the most believable as a couple on a sitcom

5.0 out of 5 stars Still going strong, November 30, 2007

This review is from: Martin: The Complete Third Season (DVD)
Season 3 of "Martin" definitely picks up where Season 2 left off. Although there are some serious themes (Martin struggling to find himself as he prepares for he and Gina's marriage, Tommy and Pam finally getting together), the laughs are endless in this third "Martin" DVD released...in 2007. Some of the memorable moments include Martin's misadventures in the work force, including a stint as a floor-buffer, Martin and Gina going undercover to find out what Tommy does for a living, Martin's confrontation with a child claiming to be his son, Martin's refusal to pay his rent, which leaves he and the gang in chills during a huge snowstorm, a 70's themed "Player's Ball" the gang holds to save an old movie theatre, and of course the wedding episode. So, the classic episodes are still aplenty, but probably not on the same level as the classic Season 1 and 2. It wouldn't be until the second half of the series (seasons 4 and 5), when the quality of the show would diminish, eventually sealing the show's fate.

Alright now it don't get no better than this! Finally the season I have been waiting for! Right in time for Turkey Day =) The season with "Homey-o and Juliette". The Season where the Notorius BIG himself made a guest appearance for music auditions(That Anita "Faker" and "Phony" Braxton stil makes me laugh!). The episode where the big "rat thing" attacked them on their tropical trip, right after a hurricane blew through. The season where Martin got his own talk show. This season brought non stop laughs. This is the smartest move HBO has ever made!

5.0 out of 5 stars Picked up Where Season 2 lefted Off, November 9, 2007

This season was just as good as the last season but u didn't see Mama Payne, Jerome, and Rosco too much. This season you saw the actually main characters blossom with Tommy & Pam getting together & Martin & Gina ironing out their differences before their wedding. Martin was getting back on his feet from the radio station & finding his way. This season I saw growth in the characters but the humor was still there, so I'm looking forward to season 4 and the beginning of the newlyweds. HBO please hurry up with the next season, the fans are impatiently waiting.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2007 Is Now My Favorite Year..., August 20, 2007

This review is from: Martin: The Complete Third Season (DVD)
The reason? By the end of the year, three (count 'em, 3) seasons of Martin will have been released on DVD for my and other fans' viewing pleasure. By the third season, "Martin" was under going slight changes. Peripheral characters were no longer being seen (Stan and Sean) while others were being added and / or given slightly increased screen time (think Bruh Man, who is essentially the "Martin" equivalent of "Seinfeld's" Kramer, at the end of the second season). Unlike other sitcoms, I think "Martin" hit its stride in the 2nd half of the first season and went strong until the series finale.

While I'm NOT actually reviewing the DVD set (I haven't received an advanced copy or anything), I will say that the first 2 seasons released were a mixed blessing. On one hand, we got the full episodes as opposed to those shown in syndication and remastered picture quality (which, while expected, is none the less worthy of applause). On the other hand, the first season included just 2 special features. The first being blooper highlights which were funny but nothing special, while the other was another set of highlights overdubbed with the reflections of Martin Lawrence himself. Martin sounded very disinterested and none of the other cast members were included in this "walk down memory lane". The second season didn't include any special features.

However, I'll gladly just take the complete episodes.

For those who "hate when there are reviews of products not yet released", rest assured that I will delete this post once the 3rd season has been released. Until then, just look at this as my reflections.

I loved this show while it was on the air. It's great to be able to watch it again and again and again. This season contains a few of my favorite episodes ever, including Chilligan's Island (The Romantic Weekend) and Nuttin' Goin' On But the Rent. :0

This review is from: Martin: The Complete Third Season (DVD)
I'm so happy that Season 3 was released. It contains some of the funniest episodes in the show's history! By this point in the show, the actors have learned each other's comedy styles. Each character has their own catch phrase and funny behavior. This is a must-have for any Martin fan!
