5.0 out of 5 stars Already great, Now greater. April 12, 2012

This app is defacto the best app for Kindle Fire (if you care about the Bible.) The speak function hidden under more settings gives you audio versions of all the texts you install (Bible, comments, general books...) That alone makes it better than KF kindle reading. Navigation is painless. Scrolling and page turning is intuitive.

After the 1.4.1 update, all of the texts I have installed display correctly (even Rev 22 of God's Word to the Nations!)

About the only thing that could be better is the size of the text on the Top Bar. It's a little hard to hit the buttons to start navigation or change theversion type on a Kindle fire, since the buttons are obviously sized for a smaller screen.

If you enjoy reading the Bible, this is the app that will work for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Best Bible for Android... November 21, 2011
By V. M. C
This Bible does what it says. I purchased one before finding this one. This has downloads of various complete versions, concordance, commentary, and dictionary aids. It easy, adjustable formatting. Best of all once you download no Internet connection is needed to utilize it. 10 Stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Bible app for study March 28, 2012

This is the best Bible app I've tried on my Kindle Fire and phone. It has many commentaries available for download for free as well as dictionaries and a Strong's Concordance all for free download. It works offline as well so I can use it on my fire without a wifi connection.

One feature that is missing that I think is very important for a Bible app is highlighting. A way to back up my notes would be a good feature too. Other than those two things this is my favorite Bible app for Android.

Doesn't need wifi...downloaded to Kindle Fire. Lets you search by book and key words. Multiple versions...pick the one best for you. I will be able to take this to service and Bible study.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally! January 27, 2012

This app has the features that youversion should have adopted years ago. Offline notes, read to you without being connected, downloading of commentaries, greek and hebrew dictionaries, and best of all the KJV with STRONGS #!. I read the ESV as my main bible, but the strongs indexed kjv is great when you are confused about a word. Oh and as an additional plus, the buttons are easier to press than the YV and the whole app, though spartan, is much faster on the Kindle fire.

Don't get me wrong, I will still use Youversion, for NIV, AMP, and MSG but man, this app is like having a library at your fingertips!

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple but very useful December 8, 2012

This is the kind of Bible study app for my Kindle Fire I've been looking for. I've bought several Bible versions as well as as various commentaries in e-book form but you have to keep switching from book to book in order to access them. Having different Bible versions, commentaries, and dictionaries all in one app is great. I have a 1st generation Kindle Fire and have been playing with the app for a couple of days and haven't experienced any of the problems that a couple of other reviewers had such as limited functionality and speak feature not working.
The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is only one tab per category (commentary, dictionary, Bible, etc) so you have to keep tapping the tab to get to the commentary/dictionary/Bible you want. Not a big deal, but I'd prefer separate tabs for each item. On the whole, I'm grateful to the developer for producing such a quality product for free.

5.0 out of 5 stars And Bible (Android Bible Program) October 6, 2012
By LincNeb

Works about as good as can be expected for a program designed for small screen devices. You get most of the material you would find on a Crosswire.org Bible program. It even has something that my Windows Crosswire version doesn't have, the ability to show maps. (I think you'll find the Smith Atlas the most accurate of the maps).

It has the KJV with the Strong Concordance. You can get the ESV with it's notes. It has numerous Bibles in English and other languages. You can get well-known commentaries such as Scofield, Matthew Henry, besides Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown, etc.

I'm rather sad it doesn't have the Webster's 1913 dictionary. It's interesting with the numerous examples it gives for the use of words it defines. It does have other well-known Christian dictionaries, such as the American-Tract one.

Now the read out loud function doesn't work on my Cruz T301 tablet (Froyo) but works on my Cruz PS47 (Gingerbread) tablet.

One of the best compliments I can give it is that its quality embarrasses perhaps all the paid apps in this field, and And Bible is absolutely free.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great without wifi! November 7, 2012
Verified Purchase
When I first got my Kindle I downloaded the YouVersion bible. Not a bad bible app but WHY on earth would I want bible that requires wifi to read and enjoy it? I like to read while I'm waiting in line, etc and don't want to bother with finding a wifi just to read the bible so +and Bible is the perfect bible app for me as it's offline - I enjoyed reading 2 Kings last night while waiting in line to vote last night where there was no wifi to be found. The only downside is that +and Bible doesn't have the NLT, my favorite translation but it's more than worth it anyway.

This is not a useful app. I find it impossible to look anything up with it. It will go one page after another or not at all. Don;t waste your space on it.

I use And Bible on an Android phone and Nook tablet. I use e-Sword on the PC, Both are great tools and don't need anymore than these two. The price to value ratio is the best.

Sadly, the Bibles do not contain the complete canon of Scripture. This is understandable for translations which are inherently defective and omit the Deuterocanonicals. Read more
