4.0 out of 5 stars Good Paddle for Beginners and Novice
This paddle is very well balanced and somewhat sturdy. In this certain place I go to play ping ping, these Tsunami Paddles are offered to those players who dont have their own.

It has pretty good spin for a pre assembled paddle and it isn't too heavy. Good bang for the buck. Great paddle to start playing and learning with although Im not a big fan of pre...

3.0 out of 5 stars A light-weight racket that is well balanced
This racket is reasonably light at 155g, with a focus on speed over control. The rubber is thin and has little grip. It is not a high-end equipment, but at this price, it is hard to do much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Racket, May 26, 2011

This is a good beginner racket. I would say that the ratings are little off. It has decent spin and speed. It is light-weight if that's what you prefer. Its definitely a step above the rackets that come with a table however.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a beginner - especially a kid, April 4, 2011

This bat is a good beginner bat. It would be ideal for a kid because it weighs only 155 grams. The handle is well contoured and comfortable for my 6-yr old. The rubber has minimal speed or spin - which is how it should be for a beginner paddle. My kid's game has improved enormously in the last 2 weeks of playing with this (as opposed to a heavier, pricier bat).
One thing to note: the rubbers are not ITTF approved if it matters to you.
Again, this is a good first bat to learn the basic strokes of the game.
Don't invest in more expensive bats if you are new to table tennis. Once you get hooked and get better, you will embark on a racket-buying EJ spree anyway, so don't think this is your last bat!

I received this item as a replacement for one that was delaminating. The new paddle arrived as promised. The service was excellent!

I am a good amateur ping-pong player, I am playing in my basement very often and I understand pretty well what is a good racket.
This racket has good surfaces and it spins the ball very well. These surfaces are laying on the solid wood base, which makes this racket very heavy.
The base should be made from the slices of wood and other light materials and should be light. I am playing with Joola racket which is much lighter.
I would not recommend this racket even for the beginner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great paddle, January 22, 2010

I'm a recreational player who plays whenever I can find a table. I was leary at first after seeing what other brands offer at $12.99 but saw that this was rated 100-speed 100-spin and 70-control and had to see if I was getting more for my money. I did. Got it in the mail and had some people over the same night and did really well with it and it definitely outperformed the paddles I've gotten at Sports Authority, Dick's and all the other sporting goods stores that were priced twice as much. MK makes some good stuff for a fraction of the price of Butterfly brands. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value!, November 23, 2008

I got this paddle for my boyfriend and he loves it. He is a very good recreational player and can't stop talking about all the different kinds of shots that he can hit with this paddle. He plays tennis so he put an old overgrip on the handle. It looks kind of funny but it works for him.
