Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Martin MEC13 Clapton's Choice Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings, Medium (Electronics)
I bought a set of these and several other sets of stings to find a set that would work for me on my new Taylor 814-CE.
When I first put them on they felt OK, but they where too bright. After a couple of days they sounded great, I've always used Martin Strings, and D`Addario strings on my acoustics, but since this was my first Grand Auditorium size guitar I wanted to go through several sets.
So far I've played a set of these and the D`Addario EXPs, and love them both. These are brighter than the EXPs, but both are well balanced, and sound much better than the Elixir's that came on the guitar when I bought it new.
I have several other sets to go through yet, but you just can't go wrong on Martin strings, and the fact that E.C. is endorsing them is pretty much a guarantee that your going to get a great sound from these strings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clapton sound is there alright, April 25, 2011

I wanted to mention that these strings are a little unforgiving on less than perfectly maintained guitars.

The Clapton tone is there, perfect for playing the Unplugged songs, but I can't help but feel my beater Yamaha acoustic suffers in the mid-strings with excessive buzz.

I'm sure these are great for a real Martin or other quality guitar, just be careful if your trying to accomplish anything with a beater like mine, you might be better off with some Slinky's.
