5.0 out of 5 stars The music of life, February 20, 2001

Solanales (Saint Paul, Minnesota United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Martinu: Sinfonietta Giocosa / Toccata e Due Canzoni / Sinfonietta La Jolla - Julian Jacobson / Bournemouth Sinfonietta / Tamas Vasary (Audio CD)
Once you listen to the Toccata or the Sinfonietta La Jolla, you will become a convert to this recording of Bohuslav Martinu's lively works for small orchestra. This is at once muscular, lyrical and life-affirming music which is given a splendid performance by the Bournemouth Sinfonietta. I find myself listening to it again and again. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Melody!, March 15, 1999

When it comes to recording Bach's Cello Suites, few are as prolific as Janos Starker. With four different sets available (and several others out of print), Starker sheds a new light on the work with each performance.
