"Marvel Adventures" is a line of comics designed to be appropriate for all ages. These are fun stories about Spider-Man when he was a teenager.
This volume collects four issues of the series written by bestselling author, and parent of four, Peter David. His unique blend of tightly woven plots, interesting dialogue, and sense of humor are perfect for younger readers. Penciller Mike Norton and inker Norman Lee do a great job of illustrating, providing dynamic panels without losing the light-hearted feel. This volume, as the title suggests, contains appearances by classic Marvel monsters Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing, Fin Fang Foom, and Frankenstein's monster. But, because of the target age group, there's nothing too scary in these pages. And for any long time comics fans like myself, these adventures, while not in continuity, are still a fun harkening back to Peter Parker's high school years. Marvel Adventures Spider-Man Vol. 5: Monsters on the Prowl is definately a fun read.
