From the bowels of Hell...,

This review is from: Marvel Legends 6" Action Figures Series 13: Blackheart (Toy)
This is a great sculpt of an underused character. It's too bad that the anatomy of his feet and the weight of his barely-bendable tail make it difficult for him to stand.

Blackheart is a decent figure. Again, he's not exactly my first choice of characters to appear in the Marvel Legends series, but they did a nice job with him anyway. The figure has good details and is articulated pretty well. His look is true to the comic book. Blackheart is the son of Mephisto--Mephisto is Marvel's equivalent of the devil. So, I asked myself, `Why would they make Blackheart before making Mephisto?' I would think that a character like Mephisto would have been made before his son ever would. In any case, Blackheart comes with a great comic that has him trying to seduce Wolverine, Ghost Rider, and the Punisher over to the "dark side". It's a good read. Marvel Legends continues with its "Build A Figure" campaign. Blackheart comes with a piece of a larger figure that can be assembled when the other figures--and their respective pieces in the series--are purchased. When completed, this series builds the X-Men villain, Onslaught. Onslaught isn't as big as the past characters (Galactus, the Sentinel, Apocalypse, or Giant Man), but he still looks fine and is nicely detailed. Onslaught is a great character and has good articulation, but the characters in this series sell themselves and I would have bought them regardless of the Onslaught figure. This series of figures also includes a character-dedicated diorama, or backdrop, that Blackheart can be posed in front of for display purposes. He is in good supply so getting him should be easy. I highly recommend this figure to Marvel Legends fans.

This figure is very impressive. It is exactly just like the character, I would reccomend to anyone who is a fan of Marvel Comics or just Beastly Characters in general to buy this collectible for collection
Only thing I did not like was that the character kept falling over hahaha But overall I recommend this figure to anyone

Blackheart is a great figure. he is creepy, with a grey-ish blue color, lumpy skin, sinister red eyes, no mouth, a long, four fingers and three toes, bendy tail, and quite a few rows quill-like spikes Around and behind his face. he is very detailed. he also comes with a hellish backdrop. i would recommend it.
the comic it comes with is also exellent. in it, Blackheart is the villain, an he fights Wolverine, Punisher, and Ghost Rider. the art is good in the comic, although Ghost Rider is not that well drawn. it is one of Blackhearts first attemts in his long running plan to overthrow his father.

This guy is a demon of sorts and the son of Marvel's Mephisto the ruler of Marvel's hell. I've read that his powers are off the chart in most areas, then again I've seen the Punisher take him out so I'm not so sure.
He does make a fairly cool looking figure with many layers to his demon dreadlocks a huge tail and blank face and a deep blue color. He is loaded up with articulation and his tail is bendy. His feet are set up in that kind of standing on his tiptoes stance that give them that creepy hoof like appearance but does make them hard to stand on. You may end up using the tail for support. It does not bend as easily as it looks in the pictures so you may have to work with it. Overall a pretty good looking figure though, if a bit of an obscure character. His accessories include a comic, a VS card; you can use the card board back as a backdrop if you want using an included stand and a weird left leg of the build a figure, Onslaught. Onslaught himself is a bit of an unusual cat. A kind of solid projection of Professor X's bad side combined with a bit of Magneto and taken a life of its own he was bad news for a while. Not sure if he was really that popular a villain though, although he did set some heavy events into motion. The figure is not the giant build a figure (BAF) we're used to from past series and is more in scale with the regular big figures like Abomination. However, he is really massive, as in heavy and bigger than most any regular figure but don't expect a giant. He comes up to about Apocalypse's waist. He is really detailed too though and has tons of articulation so is a cool figure and they went all out on the sculpt. Still, it would have been neat to see him in a bit of a bigger size. |
