5.0 out of 5 stars I'm not that pleased. But not that disappointed., June 23, 2004
A Kid's Review
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: 6" Marvel Legends Series V Figure: Colossus (Toy)
To be honest this is my first Marvel Legends! Colossus has become one of my more favorite heroes from X-Men, or even Marvel for that matter. When I opened him I couldn't wait to play with him! Thats when the coolness ended.

1. For some reason the left leg is very loose. This causes awkward posing and standing up right.
2. Joints in the torso (the rotating part) and the part where the abs meet the upper body are very very loose. When you pose him its hard to get him in a super pose if you know what I mean. Even when hes slouched over he looks sort of cool. (use your imagination! ^_^ )
3. His head only moves side to side. It just would've been alot better if his head moved up and down. For a higher level of articulation I guess.
4.If u already have this figure, look at his shoulder closely. Toybiz has made this strange Spider-Man pattern on his shoulder. Aren't the armor grooves supposed to follow on the protruding muscles?

Enough with the lame. Out with the Bad in with the Good.

As my first Marvel Legend, I read many reviews on OTHER legends before getting this one. They were really good, so what better way to start than getting my favorite character!

1. Ingenious material! The portion of his pecks are made of this rubber plastic material. Which stretch onto his back and neck muscles and even his shoulder guards. What makes this good is that u can make his arms go in virtually any position without the normal plastic guard blocking.
2. I don't know why but his shoulders are build on this hinge thing that are connected to his upper shoulder. To me this is great in some ways. When playing you can quickly get him in a position (like during a battle or something. The hinge cap is made of thick rubber material, so it can't hold the position without you holding it.)
3. His Wrists and Fingers. What makes this great is that you can bend his wrist back and and open his 4 fingers, AND his thumb which pivots. so you can have him throw or body slam someone!

I gave this toy a 3 for education because it can teach anatomy. At least I think it can. Particularly this character has defined muscles and stuff. I don't know you figure it out.

Otherwise, this figure is worth collecting. And playing with. If it breaks u can buy another one, cause their not that expensive. get an action figure stand if u want to pose him. Thats my solution

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best X-Men gets a great treatment, June 24, 2004
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: 6" Marvel Legends Series V Figure: Colossus (Toy)
Fan favorite X-Man Colossus (who has sadly been dead for some time in the current comic continuity) gets the treatment he deserves with this recent wave of Marvel Legends figures. For starters, he looks cool, even though his organic metal body could have looked shinier. The 37 points of articulation allow for plenty of movement, however, just like with previous figures, there are problems when trying to get the figure to stand on it's own on it's display. Getting Colossus to stand right on his display can be frustrating, but the toy is better off for display than play. Also included is a re-print of Uncanny X-Men #129 by the legendary duo of Chris Claremont and John Byrne which is the beginning of the Dark Phoenix Saga; one of, if not the, best stories in X-Men history.

I love this figure, mainly because og the detail of it. The head sculpt is vey cool making him look really strong. The figure is very big which shows of his power. The articulation on this figure is very good, like all the other marvel legends. The paint on the metal is very nicely done. The base is a part of a sentinals body which is cool, the base is very detail and looks amazing. For that price you cant go wrong!!! Get this figure its 1 off the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big and Bad but not too graceful., March 9, 2004

I agree with my boy Anthony: very cool, but top heavy and awkward. Toy biz is top of the line when it comes to superhero figures but they need to pay attention to their figures' joints! The Marvel legends line is all I could have ever asked for as a kid. However, this figure (and as well Sabertooth)has issues when it comes to holding the pose. Due to the flawed joint engineering, this figure in particular ends up being more like a drunken hero than a super one. this figure would make a much better professor xavier (i.e. put him in a wheelchair).
Yet after all the complaining I've done, I am still totally content with my purchase. You can't go wrong with my homee colossus!!!! He's the bomb-diggety!

Out of all the new Marvel Legends Wave 5 figures, I couldn't wait to get this figure first. When I got them, I was the most disappointed with this one. Colossus looks very good. But, since the Silver Surfer was a shiny metallic color, I thought Colossus would be, too. He's not. Instead of being shiny, he looks very dirty and dull. Almost like he's made out of lead from a #2 pencil. His articulation is mediocre. His head can only move from side to side. His joint where his upper torso and lower torso meet is very loose. Which makes it difficult for him to stand upright because he's rather top-heavy. If you don't balance it just right, he looks like he's slouching. Maybe it's only unique to this figure, but have a feeling it isn't. And, he has a joint between his ankle and knee. I do not think that is necessary--nobody can bend there. As far as fun and durability go, he's great and worth the price. He is a character who is not made very often and is wonderful to have just for that reason. He's my favortie X-man and I am glad he is part of the Marvel Legends series. They need to bring in some more of these characters who we always remember, but never seem to make the the action figure spotlight.

This toy is lousy quality. The first day, one of the knee pads fell off. The second day, his whole leg fell off. We've bought lots of action figures before, including many Marvel characters that we were quite pleased with. But this one was disappointing to say the least. Save your money.

Definitely one of my favorites in my large collection! Great detail, nice articulation, very well done. Colossus could've been shinier (like he was in the comics), but still an excellent addition to the Marvel Legends line of figures.
