Very buggy; monotonous, October 10, 2005

I was very disappointed. EA has a lot of nerve charging the same price for the PSP version that they charge for console versions, considering how much is left out. There are no objectives in the PSP version other than to beat your opponent; this means there is no story worth mentioning. The controls are buggy and nothing more than a hindrance (the button for manual face only works part of the time; auto face function hardly ever works at all). This leads to a lot of frustration.
If you register it with EA they'll send you a cheat code; unfortunaterly there is nowhere to enter it; it would seem that the cheat functions were not included in the PSP version.
If you're buying this to play your favorite hero, pack a lunch; you don't get to choose. You must unlock each character by progressing. Even then you don't get any choice on who you unlock. You have to play the Imperfects whether or not you wanted to (and I didn't want to; I bought this for the Marvel characters, not the Imperfects).
EA should have done more to make certain that this game was worth the playing experience. My advice to them is to remember that their customers want to ENJOY themselves, not jump through their hoops. In the end it's not really difficult, just monotonous; like doing a chore. I'm sorry I spent $50 on it.

A game made for the console., June 6, 2006

I have to partially agree with many other viewers about this game. Marvel: Rise of the Imperfects was made for the consoles. Xbox and PS2 versions are much better with actual cenimatic effects.
However, if you don't want the console version, and love fighting with other imperfect superheros, I believe this game is for you. The PSP version is beautiful for the handheld. Warning, there are no cenimatic effects, yet, there are a few more unlockable characters available in the PSP version. The fighting system gets easier once you understand the character you are playing, however the character has (of course) a limited amount of energy they can use to ignite their power... Which can be frustrating at times.
In the end I still believe this game is better on console, yet it does just fine on the handheld. If you love your PSP this game is for you, if you love marvel and beating the crud from other good-guys/bad, this is ALSO for you. Definately a fun game when you can kick Wolverine's ass in public! Happy gaming!

Hoping for a good game, May 20, 2011

But it is a very bad game. The story is barley there, you pick a hero/villian and fight 7 people. Thats about it, there is a little paragraph tellin you about your enemy like what he/she is doing and who they work for. The sound is decent pretty low quality but it is'nt completely terrible, the only saving grace is the graphics, while cool it doesnt save the game and, as much as i was hoping for a good game this one falls flat.
