I was very disappointed. EA has a lot of nerve charging the same price for the PSP version that they charge for console versions, considering how much is left out. There are no objectives in the PSP version other than to beat your opponent; this means there is no story worth mentioning. The controls are buggy and nothing more than a hindrance (the button for manual face only works part of the time; auto face function hardly ever works at all). This leads to a lot of frustration.
If you register it with EA they'll send you a cheat code; unfortunaterly there is nowhere to enter it; it would seem that the cheat functions were not included in the PSP version. If you're buying this to play your favorite hero, pack a lunch; you don't get to choose. You must unlock each character by progressing. Even then you don't get any choice on who you unlock. You have to play the Imperfects whether or not you wanted to (and I didn't want to; I bought this for the Marvel characters, not the Imperfects). EA should have done more to make certain that this game was worth the playing experience. My advice to them is to remember that their customers want to ENJOY themselves, not jump through their hoops. In the end it's not really difficult, just monotonous; like doing a chore. I'm sorry I spent $50 on it.

A game made for the console.,

I have to partially agree with many other viewers about this game. Marvel: Rise of the Imperfects was made for the consoles. Xbox and PS2 versions are much better with actual cenimatic effects.
However, if you don't want the console version, and love fighting with other imperfect superheros, I believe this game is for you. The PSP version is beautiful for the handheld. Warning, there are no cenimatic effects, yet, there are a few more unlockable characters available in the PSP version. The fighting system gets easier once you understand the character you are playing, however the character has (of course) a limited amount of energy they can use to ignite their power... Which can be frustrating at times. In the end I still believe this game is better on console, yet it does just fine on the handheld. If you love your PSP this game is for you, if you love marvel and beating the crud from other good-guys/bad, this is ALSO for you. Definately a fun game when you can kick Wolverine's ass in public! Happy gaming!

But it is a very bad game. The story is barley there, you pick a hero/villian and fight 7 people. Thats about it, there is a little paragraph tellin you about your enemy like what he/she is doing and who they work for. The sound is decent pretty low quality but it is'nt completely terrible, the only saving grace is the graphics, while cool it doesnt save the game and, as much as i was hoping for a good game this one falls flat.

Granted I'm not all that great at fighting games, but I can usually at least muddle my way through a few levels and squeeze some fun out of a game. This game wasn't what I expected at all. The controls are extremely clunky. You have to be in a particular spot to pick up an object, and it's way too easy to stand on top of it instead. Trying to pull off moves seems random at times, with the game favoring the enemy as far as timing goes.
The story is nearly nonexistent. "So-and-so is at the bridge, go stop him from damaging it." Why even bother? And what's the point of unlocking characters if you don't get to choose who you can play as? It takes forever to fight one round, and you have to win 2 out of 3 to win the match. The only thing I found nice about the game was the graphics. It's a very nice looking game. But it wasn't enough to keep me playing for more than an hour.

The Good: play (if you don't get bored with it first) with all your favorite marvel super heroes.
The Bad: Repetitive arenas (there are only 5) Choose a Marvel heroe, and you'll fight all the Imperfects, same order, same arena, same thing. Choose an Imperfect, and you'll fight all the Marvel heroes, same order, same arena, same thing. Card system that God knows what it does, and you can't even really choose your cards. Repetitive turns to boredom. Don't buy it trust me!

This game really wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. I had fun though. The game quality was what I expected, which is a good thing, and overall this is a great game to lose track of time with.

This is an excellent game for PSP, but compared to the excellent graphics and fun extras the home console games have, it stinks! The PSP version has a single player mode that gets very repetitive after a while, compared to the home console version that boasts a full, DIFFERENT storyline for each character. Also, the little gimmicks that make the home console multiplayer so great (funny intros, etc.) are missing comepletely! My advice would be to try this game on GameFly first, see if you like it, and then buy the home console version!

This is a wonderful game. It has excellent graphics, great music, a whole lot of weapons you can use, cool looking fighters, the list goes on. Basically, it is about the Marvel characters(heroes, Iron Man, Thing, Spider-Man, Elektra, Captain America, Storm, Wolverine, Magneto, believe it or not, Dr. Doom, ditto, and Venom)fighting to save the world from being taken over by the Imperfects(villains, Johnny Ohm, Wink, Brigade, and quite a few others I can't remember right now)You can play as a Marvel hero or an Imperfect villain. Every character has some sort of REALLY COOL power, not to mention that throughout fights, there's lots of noise, explosions & smashing of property. If you are into cool fighting games(like I am, of course)I recommend this to you entirely! End of story. Oh, and I unlocked some fighters! You can unlock them by winning the game! Anyway, by I gotta go! But be sure to get this!

I like the PSP version better than console becasue even though the storyline is left out it's only annoying anyhow and the PSP has more heroes and villens to select from. I would rather more characters and levels than a storyline that consists of runnning around and beating up robots intill you fight a villan/hero. The only flaw is only being able to select 2 characters at the start, but again lots more to unlock.
PSP version is better.

marvel nemesis has gotten a lot of bad reviews which it really doesnt deserve. the audience just wanted a marvel soulcalibur and what they got was a marvel powerstone. but powerstone was great game too. so i dont see a problem. but the psp version of marvel nemesis was different it was a one on one action game that centered more on using special abilities and powers than just standard attacks. this game is pretty good, its not great but it is worth a shot. i give it a C+
