The black-clad spike-laden Ghost Rider is depicted in an aggressive crouching stance similar to a scene from any garden variety Judas Priest video. Armed with a length of razor wire, the Ghost Riderā?TMs skull countenance is outlined by and permeated with a guttering swath of red-orange hellfire. In the hopes of saving the life of his surrogate father, Johnny Blaze made a pact with a force he believed to be the Devil but which was actually Mephisto. Unknowingly, Blaze was a spiritual inheritor of a fraction of Medallion of Power. Mephisto had attempted to corrupt the previous Ghost Rider in an attempt to gain mastery over the amuletā?TMs power. In Johnny Blaze Mephisto saw a new opportunity. He granted Blazeā?TMs wish, although the surrogate father ended up dying a different way. Blaze attempted to negate the pact, and Mephisto spitefully linked Blaze to the demon Zarathos.
