3.0 out of 5 stars So, So ...
This game is not exactly what I expected, but I'm still trying to give it a chance. It's a little boring at first. I'm hoping it will get better as I reach higher levels.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a great game for the pure fun of engaging in the imagination space of being Captain America, Thor, or any of the other 20+ characters included with your version of the game. Being a long time comic book reader since the 70's it was quite a trip to engage in all the various corners of the Marvel Universe including the home of the Inhumans, The Skrulls. and so many other aspects of the mind of Stan "the man" Lee. I also enjoyed the flexability of crossing between the various incarnations of the classic, ultimate and other graphic versions of the characters. Being able to play on the Thor's persona's "Beta Ray Bill" was wonderuful. I reccomend this for anyone who is a true believer! Excelsior! Thanks to activison and Stan Lee for this wonderful world!

4.0 out of 5 stars MARVEL IN A BOX, December 11, 2007

PURE AND SIMPLE FUN!
I had this game for the PC and I'm even thinking about getting a PSP Marvel Ultimate Allianceversion of it. It is THAT good.
I'm a MARVEL fan but i'm also an avid gamer and when you get a chance to play as ANY of more than 20 super-heroes , each one with his/her own set of Powers AND many unlockable outfits...you just have to add this to your collection.
And as you play along with friends you know that this game is going to be remembered for giving you a sense of exitement you never felt ever again since you and your big brother were kids playing with action figures.

This game is a must-have for any MARVEL fan. Pure and simple.

A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Video Game)
First off, I'd like to compliment the amount of heroes you can play as, here is a list (for regular, not gold edition):
Ms.Marvel, Dr.Strange, Silver Surfer(yes, THE silver surfer), Dare Devil(my favorite), Elektra, Mr.Fantastic, Invisibe woman, Thing, The Human Torch, Thor, Deadpool, Wolverine, Storm, Iceman, Black Panther, Luke Cage(the SWEET CHRISTMAS guy), spider-man, spider-WOMAN, Nick Fury(leader of S.H.E.I.L.D.), Blade, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, and
Captain America.Sadly, you cannot be my favorite hero of all time, Nightcrawler(you find out why in Mephiso's realm), One of the other cool features is that when you have certain combonations of people, you can moke teams, like the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-men, and things like "Dark Past". Also, each hero has unuiqe powers, it's not the same hero in a different costume *coughjusticeleageheroescough*.Another really cool thing if you've played "X-Men Legends" (which I think is like a prototype of "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance"), you alternate through differant bases, like "Stark Tower", "Attilan", and "Asgard", unlike Legends where your base is always
"X Academy". But, if your going to get this game, look for the gold edition, in that one you can be all these people, plus Cycloops, the Hulk, and Venom, plus more. But if you can't find Gold, don't be hesitant to by the origonal, it's still THE BEST(not ONE of the best) super hero game, I've ever played, actually, THE best game I've ever played!!!

This game has a lot of potential. But is missing something to become a great game.
You have over 20 characters to play in the game, but only once does it seem to make a difference who your playing.
Building a specific team, Fantastic 4, Avengers, etc does give your team bonuses in XP, Health, Focus etc.
Side games are good to get a sample of the other characters, and they are challenging since most of them you're playing only 1 character, not the team.

The game play is fun, but repetitive and there seems to be bugs on assigning abilities to the controller. Many times I've changed the buttons to be different abilities only for the game to reset to a different ability.

The game has a lot of playability! The characters, of course, are all familiar and you can create your very own team of four marvel heroes. The storyline, graphics and gameplay (except for the "dumb" arcade game in Murderworld) are all great!! I like the side "training" missions as well.

this game is amazing on wii and on xbox. i sold my wii but i had to get this game on another system. the game is the exactly the same except, you lose 2 extra characters and of course the controls. this is an addicting game that will have you spend hours as if it were minutes.even the graphics are the same if not better on xbox. plus 10 bucks cheaper!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great overall game!, January 6, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Video Game)
If you have played X-men Legends 2 then this game will be very familiar as the engine is similar. Great story, graphics, and gameplay. Another RPG winner for the marvel universe! The only cut I have is that they dumbed down the process on how you allocate points when your character levels up. That was the best feature in Legends 2 as you could put your points anywhere you wanted and there were many many options. This is streamlined and the game offers only a few options. That is the reason I gave it only 4 stars overall. Still it is a great game and I recommend it!
