The art by Goran Parlov (an Ennis Punisher artist) is phenomenal, and the story is hilarious without being stupid.

MARVEL UNIVERSE VS THE PUNISHER

I have always been a big supporter of anything Punisher related since I am a fan of his. From the comics to the films all the way to games and merchandise. I have always found him to be immensely interesting since he works in a dark underworld that even most of the super heroes in Marvel avoid. Speaking of the other heroes they have super powers and you may have noticed Frank Castle does not. All the man has is a strong will to punish those who live by nothing but wickedness. So he has always been a fascinating character to me.

In this story written by Jonathan Maberry and illustrated by Gordan Parlov the Punisher is set in a post apocalyptic world. Honestly this type of setting is really the place a man like him belongs, in a Mad Max style setting or something like that. Could you imagine Frank in the Thunderdome, which would be great [Marvel make it happen]. Well one such setting is present here as Frank is the lone survivor amongst the hero characters.

The world is changing in the Marvel Universe thanks in most part to a virus that has broken out amongst the masses. This virus or outbreak is something like a "28 Days Later" type virus making people go primal. Also like a zombie outbreak these people now want the meat of others [instead of brains I guess] and they of course do not care about killing their fellow man. So in this new world few people are still hanging around without being infected. Frank Castle is one of the lucky [ or is it unlucky] few who is still a normal person. In fact Frank may or may not have been responsible.

I really loved the look and feel of this story as it not only fit The Punisher and his stories but it is perfect for the post apocalyptic story.

Holy heck! I don't like Marvel Zombies and other than Garth Ennis and Jason Aaron I think Punisher is the most boring of Marvel's major heroes. But this book is incredible! The art by Goran Parlov (an Ennis Punisher artist) is phenomenal, and the story is hilarious without being stupid. Mayberry manages to stay true to the gritty nature of the character without losing sight of the thesis: Marvel's heroes have all gone nuts and Punisher is the only hero left . . . To punish them!

PS: Deadpool is terrific in this book.

If you liked this book i can highly recommend Punisher destroys the marvel universe. Kind of a what if book based around the idea that the punishers family were killed in the crossfire of of superhero/villan fight instead of being killed off by the mafia. Frank castle responds in much the way you would expect, It's a great read

The book was an interesting read. It was cool to see Frank Castle in a post apocalypse New York fending off zombie versions of Marvel characters. My only gripe was that the story was too short and characters came and went so fast that if you blinked you'd of missed them. But overall the story stayed true to the Punisher character and the action was good. Deadpool was a riot as always. 4 stars

Never really LOVED the Punisher, but always had respect for a man who does what he can do. This story, however, is the Punisher at his best. Wish it were 5 times longer and more detailed. Give me moooooore!

Just when u think the punished couldn't b anymore insanely bad ass...he does! Super heroes become super villains when an epidemic of brain eating occurs! As if it that weren't bad enough, all the zombie super villains team up into 'tribes' to claim bigger parts of territory and work together to get their food! As the punisher is more or less the last of the heroes to still have a somewhat stable brain to use, he comes across a few survivors and does what he does best to keep his new friends and himself alive even have realized its the end of the world as he knew it, the punisher must kill! Best marvel zombie story I've read to date...
