5.0 out of 5 stars Not sure about this one - Fun read none the less
Although I enjoyed majority of this book, I felt like I was watching a cliche fast-food blockbuster film.

Not to give anything "major" away, but basically, I was simply watching the "good guys" fight the "bad guys," then come up with a "solution" but that turns into a bigger problem, which leads to a somewhat simple conclusion in favor of the good guys and...

Picking up where MZ 3 left off, MZ 4 is pretty much of the same tier as its predecessor. The story continues with Morbius and his new crew of monstrous, ill-fated, mystical misfits as they try to rid their universe of the zombie virus and destroy the zombieverse's Morbius, who has diabolical plans in store for the Marvel mainstream universe.

The artwork is...

Although I enjoyed majority of this book, I felt like I was watching a cliche fast-food blockbuster film.

Not to give anything "major" away, but basically, I was simply watching the "good guys" fight the "bad guys," then come up with a "solution" but that turns into a bigger problem, which leads to a somewhat simple conclusion in favor of the good guys and all is well...OR SO WE THOUGHT!

What I didn't like about the story was being confused about which Universe they were in and how it was related to any of the regular universes we read and grew up with. The lack of a definitive setting made it all seem so 2 dimensional (figuratively of course...it's a book NO DUH!..nerd) and cheap.

What I did like was Z-Deadpool's new found friendship and their role in the entire zombie ordeal.

If you are a fan of the Marvel Zombie stories, then you will most likely get this anyway. It can't hurt (assuming you can afford it), but beware, it was a bit of a let down if you are expecting something as awesome as Marvel Zombies 1.

4.0 out of 5 stars More Zombies from the Marvel view., January 30, 2010

This review is from: Marvel Zombies 4 (Hardcover)
Here we have round four of the Marvel take on the classic zombie. It is a stemming from the other volumes with a better supporting cast, in my opinion. I had lost some care for it during the middle volumes, and focused more on the "purist" zombie that Kirkman was working with in Walking Dead. However this book was able to bring the fun back to the title, and for that I say Zombie-ho!

The artwork is fair, but there is noticeably less gore than us MZ fans are used to, and the focus still remains on the non-zombie characters, which is another example of the writers abandoning their proven-successful formula of following the zombie characters from THEIR point of view. The shift of focus makes this story lackluster, but not insufferable. I suggest picking it up if you want to find out what happens after the end of MZ 3, or to add to your collection if you already invested in the other MZ books. Otherwise, there are better zombie comics out there for you gore fanatics (The Walking Dead immediately comes to mind). C- to C at the most.

3.0 out of 5 stars Marvel Zombies 4, January 26, 2010

This is the fourth installment of the Marvel Zombie saga and I will have to say it was just okay.
The last three books lived up to their names, but this one took the zombie idea to another spectrum that just didn't work for me.
The artwork is awesome and captivating but again the story lacked that Marvel Zombie feel and to further add injury you get a B/W reprint of The Zombie's (another Marvel character not to be mistakened as a Marvel Zombie) earlier adventures instead of different artwork of our favorie Marvel zombied heroes.

2.0 out of 5 stars Marvel Zombies 4... Why?, January 23, 2010
This review is from: Marvel Zombies 4 (Hardcover)
This book continues the story where Marvel Zombies 3 left off... Find the zombie(s) that used the transport to escape A.R.M.O.R. Before I read this book I was thrilled with anticipation to know where this story was going... I mean I had to know. However somethings are left unknown.

The story that unfolds holds many of the pitfalls of MZ2. It revolves more around a non-zombie cast in a world populated by non-zombies that really isn't under any real zombie threat... Well besides Zombie Garth and Zombie Deadpools head, but they are practically kittens throughout the entire story arch.

So if you're looking for the next MZ graphic novel, pick it up. But if you're looking for a good MZ story. Read at your own risk.

3.0 out of 5 stars Still Loving Those Marvel Zombies, December 5, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Marvel Zombies 4 (Hardcover)
First of all nothing like the original series of course. Marvel Zombies,Marvel Zombies vs Army of Darknes, Marvel Zombies The Prequel(forgot the name) and Marvel Zombies 2 are must own HC masterpieces. MZ 4 still follows the succesfull combination of Marvel Heroes/ Zombies. Plenty of gore and blood and the marvel caracters we love. Also Zombie Deadpool (or his head)contributes to a lot of humorous and fun situations. Is up to Morbius, The Werewolf, The Witch, The son of satan and Man-thing to save the day.
