5.0 out of 5 stars Starvin' Marvin, February 13, 2007
This review is from: Marvin Explains the Facts of Life (Paperback)
A biting commentary on the American way of life, much more potent than its other more directly political comic strip counterparts like "Doonesbury," "Family Circus" and "Funky Winkerbean." But Marvin is generally overlooked in the history books, much in the same way that science fiction was disregarded as a legitimate form of literature until the mid-80s when the genre started generating gobs of cash for fat cats. And when the blockbuster trend eventually switches from comic books to comic strips (as it has hinted will happen with the recent "Garfield" release) mark my words, Marvin will get his due.
