Let me first say that this case is awesome when you buy it from the Marware website because it comes with the magnetic holding instead of velcro.

The case is made of durable leather with great stitching that holds it together very well. I bought mine in July and 6 months later it is still in fantastic shape.

On the magnetic version, the magnet is covered by the microfiber inner lining of the microfiber inner lining, meaning the magnet will not come anywhere close harming your phone.

The clip is also covered in leather so it does not scratch your belt.

I ordered one of these for myself from the marware website and it came with a magnetic holding system. When you buy it ANYWHERE else, it comes with Velcro. When I ordered one for my father and boss from Amazon, theirs both came with Velcro. Like a review said before, it is very unprofessional to have to hear the velcro rip everytime my boss wants to take his phone out.

The magnetic version is 10 times sleeker also. The magnet is covered by the microfiber inner lining so there is no risk of scratching or anything.

Also, to the people who feel like the magnet affects signal: The magnet is not nearly strong enough to affect wireless signal or harm your phone.

Do yourself a favor and GET THIS CASE! But get it from the Marware website.

I purchased this case a week after the 3G was released. In my opinion this is the best looking case on the market. The bad news is that it's already falling apart. The small rubber strip on the right-hand side separated, causing the right side of the case to slowly un-ravel. I'm right handed.

I like the design so much I'll still buy another.

I prefer the Magnetic closure to the Velcro as well, and have found on Marware's web site this statement:

"The black C.E.O. Premiere uses a secure magnetic enclosure... The black C.E.O. Premiere sold anywhere other than on Marware's website will use Velcro®."

So While I prefer to shop at AMAZON, if you want a magnetic closure you have to go to the manufacturer's web site/ My experience magnetic closure devices on all my Palm Treos worked very well, with the leather wearing out long before the magnetic clip did.

I bought this case directly from an Apple store @ the mall in November of 2008 for my iPod touch. It fit perfectly and I felt that it was well protected. I just got an iPhone 3Gs and this case works perfectly for it, too.

Others have mentioned that velcro instead of magnets is a drawback, but I actually don't mind that.

The only drawback I have with the case is the ODOR. Ever since I first bought it, I've noticed an oder that is somewhat like leather, but not at all pleasant. It is kind of a chemical smell with slight leather overtones. I can even catch a whiff of it occasionally when I'm wearing it on my hip. I actually wrote to Marware's support email to see if they could suggest something for the odor.

I like the look of the case, the soft interior, and the craftsmanship seems sturdy. As I said, I've had it since Nov 2008 and there isn't a stitch out of place. The only problem I have with it is the ODOR.

This is a nice looking, professional case that doesn't look out-of-place when you're wearing a suit. I like how easy and silent it is to get the phone out and put it back in, due to the magnetic clip (I bought direct from Marware like some others noted). However, given that you can buy cases that look almost this good for perhaps 1/4 the price, I was disappointed in the lifespan of this case. It lasted a little less than one year in normal daily use, and then one of the side panels that holds the phone in started coming apart. Although I thought about buying another one, I think I will just get something a little cheaper this time, so I won't be quite as irritated when it falls apart quickly.

The product quality seems good, but the phone will NOT fit with even the thinest skin on the phone.

I was led to believe that it would take the phone with a skin.

I have been unable to find any kind of leather holster to meet my needs.

I am disappointed for this reason.

This case is quite nice but there is one thing I didn't notice that I would like to change. The closure is a velcro like strip instead of a magnetic catch. I never thought to check that out and I'm concerned that it may wear out prematurely.

Its well made and it looks nice but just be aware that the closure is velcro.

iPhone fits in the case well. The case provides good protection for the iPhone. Some other horizontal hip cases have open corners and I was concerned I'd bump into something like a desk and scratch up the phone. This model keep phone mostly secure. The velcro fastener doesn't bother me. I chose velcro because some reports are floating around that the magnetic latches may interfere with the signal.

Four weeks after my purchase the stiching came un-done on the side. the description is miss leading because it should mention that it is a velcro flap, which is anoying. It claims that velcro is more quiet than others but it is not true. I threw that pos away and decided to just go with a full 3M protective sleeve for my iphone. FYI if you decide on getting a protective film make sure it is 3M it holds up better than the rest!

The tab on the end (which holds the phone in the holster) came unsewn just after the 30 day warranty. My advice - if you plan on daily use, look for a more sturdy product. Also, was advertised with a magnetic closure - WRONG - it was velcro (very noisy).
