This does the basis that I was hoping for, but Radio Shack's house model is much better and cheaper.This is USB powered, which can be nice, but doesn't split and requires power (not passive). The blue LED looks cheap. The remote doesn't do enough. But it functions as a dock.

Good tool for i-Pod. Small and light, those make the docking station portable. I only find an issue with the remote control. I cannot access the menu with it, only increase/decrease volume or advance/back down tracks.

Very easy to set-up and use. Watching video on TV through the dock is mostly painless, after you successfully enable the option in the video iPod. The remote works well, although feels cheap. The blue power light in the dock is WAAAAY too bright. With the lights turned-low, it casts a distracting blue light across my family room ceiling. I set things on-top of the dock to hide the light. Sound and video quality are excellent. My only other minor gripe is that my iPod will not fit into the dock when it is in the rubberized protective case. It's kind-of a hassle for me to pull it out of the third-party case. Maybe I can find a 6-inch extension cable that will allow me to plug-in the iPod and lay it down next to the dock without removing it from the case.
