Christmas is a holiday that is filled with personal traditions. With this Companion, Mary Engelbreit opens her home and invites the reader to take a special look at the personal touches she has created. In this lavishly photographed and illustrated book, the author shows that anyone can have the signature "Mary Engelbreit" adorning their Christmas decorations. She has a flair for decorated that is second to none and gives the reader the confidence to "do it themselves". EXCELLENT Christmas Coffee Table Book!!!!

Not knowing this author, but trying to build a collection of Christmas ideas, I eagerly ordered this book. I now realize that there is a group of "Mary" fans for which this book is intended: those who know & love what this author produces. I think this because the book has received such glowing reviews here, but I found its ideas and techniques uninspiring, page after page.
I did like looking at the cards created by the author. But I quickly became bored with the rest; it's all green+red+gold themes, the photos are fuzzy, and the ideas lack variety. So this "Mary" book will not become part of my library. I'm releasing it for someone else to enjoy. I have found more inventive holiday how-to books out there--such as the Southern Living series--Christmas with Southern Living 2006. Happy Holidays.
