4.0 out of 5 stars An Important Change in the Format
I've been ordering Mary's desk calendar for the past seven years. The main reason for this is the large "month at a glance" section in the beginning of the calendar--sort of a mini wall calendar included just before the day-to-day section. I write a LOT in the little boxes for each date of each month, and it keeps me prepped for what's going on all month...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed This Year
Space for writing appointments is 1/2 the size compared to all previous years. It does not meet my needs. Very disappointing... This will become a holiday gift instead of my desk personal calendar. Illustrations, as always, are beautiful.

I've been ordering Mary's desk calendar for the past seven years. The main reason for this is the large "month at a glance" section in the beginning of the calendar--sort of a mini wall calendar included just before the day-to-day section. I write a LOT in the little boxes for each date of each month, and it keeps me prepped for what's going on all month.

My 2009 edition just arrived and the "month at a glance" section is not included this year. I was surprised. Instead, new sections were added at the end for "Babysitters" and "Children's Friends."

The 2009 edition is cheerful, friendly, and colorful, but I'm going to have to buy another desk calendar to keep my "month at a glance" items clear.

So disappointed to learn the month at a glance section was discontinued in this year's calendar. I've been buying this calendar for the last 5 or 6 years. I found it to be the most complete desktop calendar because of all the features. Sad to say I will look for another calendar for 2009.

Very cheerful calendar that allows you to look ahead at your week. Easy to organize tasks, yet much more bright than your typical day/week planner.

A must have for my Mother each year. She is 80 yrs old this year and keeps notes in this to remind her of what happened on that day or what is coming up. We get her one each year.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, January 26, 2009
This review is from: Mary Engelbreit's Each Day Is A Gift: 2009 Desk Calendar (Calendar)
I love Mary's artwork and buy her calendars every year. I've foregone her desk calendars for a while because she changed the format and it did not work for me. This year I saw that the weekly pages were back to a more useful format; however, like the other reviewers I was greatly disappointed that the 2-page Month-at-a-Glance section at the beginning of each month was omitted. That, combined with the spacious weekly pages, are what make a calendar complete for me.

I know it took several years for Mary to get the message to go back to her old format in the weekly pages. I hope it doesn't take as long for her to bring back the month-at-a-glance pages as well. I'd rather not have to buy more than one calendar to get what I need; as I so love her artwork! Being an empty-nester, I don't need babysitter pages.

Amazon didn't help by not showing us that omission in the "peek inside" feature.

3.0 out of 5 stars Another disappointed girl, January 18, 2009

Like many of you, I've been using ME's spiral desk calendar for years (I think this is my 9th), and I've always enjoyed the month at a glance at the front with room for more detailed notes for each day. I can't say enough how disappointed I was to flip this open and get something so different from what I've been using -- and relying on! -- year after year. The new sections aren't half as important or appealing as the one that was omitted.

Hopefully the powers that be at ME will take heed and return to the "standard" format next year. I know I won't take it for granted so I won't be buying one of these sight-unseen again.

The Mary Engelbreit Desk Calendar has been my Christmas gift to Me for several years. I really enjoy the weekly art work and there is ample room to list daily appointments, reminders, weather and events. It's like a personal journal I can enjoy daily during the year and refer back to later.
I enjoy ordering it from Amazon because I can see what I am getting without driving 1 1/2 to 2 hours to the nearest city to find it. Thank you.
