From Publishers Weekly
Tracing her career from plugging refrigerators on Ozzie and Harriet to the current series bearing her name, Bonderoff portrays Moore as a wholesome perfectionist who has had many professional and personal setbacks. PW noted that this is an "affectionate" biography.

From Library Journal
Moore, a talented actress, has had a major influence on the entertainment business, particularly in television, where she pioneered the concept of the witty and intelligent situation comedy. Her subsequent stage and screen efforts have been spotty at best, and her all-American-girl image has been marred by several personal tragedies, the worst being her only son's suicide. The author writes in the effusive style of most celebrity biographers, particularly when describing Moore's three marriages, and much of his material bogs down in triviality. Not a necessary purchase. Samuel Simons, Memorial Hall Lib., Andover, Mass.
