Marzio's Crucufix,
By Bomojaz (South Central PA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Marzio's Crucifix (Library Binding)
Marzio, a silversmith, is a socialist who hates much in "modern" Italy, but mostly he hates his brother Paolo, who is a priest. He hates the church. Yet he has made many artifacts for his brother and the church. He has a beautiful crucifix that he's made many years before, and through it he gains redemption with his brother, whom he thought of killing. The ending is too quickly played out and the reasons for his hatred are not developed, but this is one of Crawford's better novels.
