4.0 out of 5 stars Bath Salts & Stones
These were the best priced Dead Sea Salts I found on Amazon. Overall they were pretty good as compared to other Dead Sea Salts I've used; however there were small stones mixed in with the salt; not a lot, just enough to make it an annoyance when it was time to clean the tub.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware Different label and toxic product on Order made 10/12/2011
I LOVED these salts. I am very chemically sensitive and the first 2 orders of this product were a great help to me. I just opened my order of 10/12/2011 because I have been sick since early afternoon from gasoline use in the area. There was a strong chemical smell in the box. That NEVER happens from the packaging in the many Amazon product orders I have received...

5.0 out of 5 stars Dead Sea Salt Helped My Psoriasis!, June 23, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Masada Bath Salts, Naturally Unscented, Dead Sea Mineral, 64 oz (1.814 kg) (Health and Beauty)
As a psoriasis sufferer, I've been told that salt baths would help ease my condition which persists despite twice-daily applications of a prescription steroid cream.

Initially, I tried Epsom salts. They're inexpensive, after all, and available at grocery- and drugstores. Although I did see a slight improvement, a friend who's into homeopathic remedies suggested that I try Dead Sea salts. Epsom salts, she explained, are magnesium sulfate which is anti-inflammatory - a property that might explain the slight relief I saw after their use. Dead Sea salts, on the other hand, contain potassium, calcium chloride and bromides in addition to magnesium.

I'm rather picky about fragrances (I mix my own with essential oils) so I wanted something unscented, which led me to these Masada salts on Amazon. They arrived on a Friday afternoon. That evening I drew a tub and soaked for almost an hour. (A good book had arrived in the same shipment.) The following day, I didn't see much improvement but figured I'd take another soak that night.

It's now Tuesday, four days after my shipment arrived. I've soaked each evening in a salt bath (2 cups salt in my large garden-style bathtub) for an hour. I'm pleased to say that the psoriasis patches on my hands look better than they have in over a year, and the patches on my elbows are all but gone.

I'm so happy with the results that I've signed up for the "subscription" plan so I get a new shipment of these salts on a regular basis. I also plan to mix up several scented batches using my favorite essential oils and may give some of those to friends who also have skin conditions.

I wanted to find something better than regular Epsom salts and something for sensitive skin. This product delivers on their claim. It helped my itchy skin and eased my aching bones!! All with out perfumes or dye. The salts are a little chunky, but they eventually dessolve. I Will be buying this again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware Different label and toxic product on Order made 10/12/2011, November 28, 2011

I LOVED these salts. I am very chemically sensitive and the first 2 orders of this product were a great help to me. I just opened my order of 10/12/2011 because I have been sick since early afternoon from gasoline use in the area. There was a strong chemical smell in the box. That NEVER happens from the packaging in the many Amazon product orders I have received.
This was an immediate red flag that there might be an issue with the salts.

I took the salts out of the Amazon box to see that the label on the container had changed. For one thing, it no longer says "whole organic salts" in an oval on the upper right side. I opened the container and found it had some kind of odor I do not recognize.

I have less than a handful left in my last purchase so I double-checked what I knew to be true: the previous order had no toxic smell to it. I reexamined the October 2011 order and the toxic odor was very clear. I touched a few of the salts from this recent October order with my left hand fingers and my fingertips are still burning.

The label for this October 2011 order features the word "UNSCENTED" and yet it clearly is SCENTED

If you use these salts to help remove toxins from your body and you are chemically sensitive do not order this product. It is such a shame because the previous orders I made of this product helped me. I also doubt I will be able to get a refund since I am only opening this today over month after the order arrived.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value!, February 19, 2009

This is such a great value for a great product! Unscented dead sea salts are wonderful for helping draw the toxins from the body during a bath. I use them in every bath for my twin toddlers, because it helps their eczema.

I searched the web, and found that this was the best price around (especially if you sign up for the automatic shipment deal).

I have already recommended this to my friends.

Well, what can you say about bath salt? It's not that I could not walk before and now I walk on water. I chose the neutral one as I am not into the flavor stuff and rather get the flavor from other foamy stuff like Algemarin. Compared to Epsom salt from Walgreens etc. this stuff is a lot more expensive but feels a lot better. I love to run and bike and this stuff really relaxes me afterward. I don't have skin issues, so cannot comment on that either, but I somehow feel I have less muscles aches when taking a bath with this salt than otherwise, meaning none or even the Epsom salt (which I though was great before). This could be because I am getting in better shape as well but I attribute some of it to the salt for sure.

It has a nice mineral feel to it, completely dissolves, and calms me down and relaxes the muscles perfectly. What's not to like? Could be cheaper ...

I have eczema and found this product helps with soothing the flare ups. Based on comparison shopping at Henry's Market the price is good for the quantity here.

I've only tried this once. The water felt very soft, but when I got out of the tub my psoriasis was much pinker. I may have gotten the water too hot, but it was only warm. Don't think I could handle a tepid bath, so I'm moving on to something different.

3.0 out of 5 stars Medium Quality Dead Sea salts, November 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Masada Bath Salts, Naturally Unscented, Dead Sea Mineral, 64 oz (1.814 kg) (Health and Beauty)
I initially got excited about purchasing Dead Sea bath salt mainly because I was walking through the Colorado Mills mall and was kindly stopped by the very attractive Israeli girl who demonstrated such products. Obviously the product she was demonstrating was not this brand of bath salt and was priced much higher than this. Because her bath salt was so expensive I chose to go home empty handed. When I got home I led myself to Amazon and found this stuff. I ordered it, received it, tried it and became disappointed by it. It is DEFINITELY not the course thick mineral that made my hands incredibly smooth at the Israeli bath salt kiosk in the mall. Then again... I'm thinking now that the hand scrub she used on my hands had a little oil base to it so maybe that's why my hands were so smooth when she washed my hands. When this salt is used as a hand scrub it can sting your hands a little while it dries out your skin removing any impurities or dirt in your pores. It is nice however, in a diluted bath and water solution. I used about 1 cup in a hot bath and did not receive the incredibly smooth skin I was seeking. This dead sea salt did not moisturize my skin like the stuff in the mall. I guess it's my fault for being ignorant on what to expect but... oh well. You live you learn.

I give it a 3 out of 5 because it's good as bath salt but probably on the cheaper side of quality...
