5.0 out of 5 stars This movie is quite good but not everyones taste, August 3, 2004

I own the movie and really enjoy it. However, if you are uncomfortable with transvestites and transsexuals, then this movie is not for you. The problem with the movie is you know who the murderer is from the start. But the plot, atmosphere, and sheer eroticism of the movie makes it worthwhile. The chemistry and sex between Derek de Lint and Charlotte Rampling is terrific. It is definitely worth seeing.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent movie, August 2, 2008
This review is from: Mascara [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The first I saw this movie I was thirteen, it always stayed in my mind. I'm glad I was able to buy it, 'cause the previous tape was in bad condition. After all this time the movie is still great to watch, with a nice couple of actors (of which one dutchie :)and a superb Rampling).

1.0 out of 5 stars A pre-cursor to the "Crying Game" - sort-of!, October 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Mascara [VHS] (VHS Tape)
A strange movie, centered around a gay/ transvestite nightclub (which ought to have alerted me - for what was to come!). Hamilton-ish in the cinematography, hazy edges and soft lighting dull the senses before the big moment - the rather beautiful lead singer - who is not quite what she seems. Nor the gender that you expect! The full frontal making you doubt your sanity and your ability to judge male/female appearances. You can miss this one......
