Should be call old-school not 2009,

I was very excited to get this 2009 mash-up mix but disappointed when I heard the songs. Most of them are old. I buy the 2009 to hear NEW songs not old school music I have heard thousands of times.

I was in Germany for business last year and had heard about how much better electronic music and mixes over there were. On a lark I picked up this CD set and another for a ridiculous price (30 euros). I listened to it once in the car and nearly discarded it for being worthless. About six months later I was looking for something new to listen to and noticed it on my shelf, and stuck it in my car CD player. Boy was I wrong! This is a wonderful pair of CDs, the first being a little better than the second. The mash up of rap and techno is amazing, and many of these songs work out perfectly together. My favorites are the California Love/Rockafeller Skank mix, and the Star Guitar/Trippin' mix.
There is one flat note on the second CD, I don't know if they were intending it as a funny bit or not, but We Come On/Do It Like A Truck is one of those songs that's ok...but if it came on with your friends in the car you would skip it. Maybe it's actually a gifted touch and I can't see it. |
