3.0 out of 5 stars nice but could have been better.
I love M.O.P. don't get me wrong I just think the music is to plain for the exception of four very good tracks the rock lacks versatility wich makes this cd a little boring. I'm not hating cause i love M.O.P.and they both bring it like always but it could have been better.

M.O.P is the last hardcore group left in newyork.Firt of all,it is rare to have a group who never compromised or never dropped a wack album.Second,I give the group major props for taking the risk in today's climate of music to make a rock album. When I heard the first track I knew this album was going to be earth shattering! I blasted this album so loud my speakers blew! This is the type of album MIKE TYSON can make his ring entrance too.MASH OUT POSSE IS M.O.P hardest album to date ande has Legendary Status written all over it.The song "FIRE" will have you wilding-yall not ready!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars a damn good rap/rock album, July 6, 2004
By
This review is from: Mash Out Posse (Audio CD)
Okay, many people who give this bad reviews don't know the reason this album was made. The reason this album was made was because this summer, the summer of 2004, M.O.P is going to be one of many groups at Linkin Park's music festival, Projekt revolution. There is mostly a rock audience at this tour and Linkin Park invited a few rappers along to keep the show balanced. However, since most the rappers on the tour realize they're performing for a mostly hard rock audience, the rappers brought their rap/rock bands along. So, while on tour, M.O.P can perform this stuff live to create appeal to the hard rockers, and try to sell this album to make a few extra bucks. Thats the only reason, so they can make some extra money on the tour. That's why their label, roc-a-fella, doesn't care about it because if it was released on their label, it won't sell for them. Just a hint to people giving this CD bad reviews.

As for the CD and the group itself, I already knew about some of M.O.P's old tracks like "ante up," and I think its smart that Linkin Park invited them on tour, because Ante Up is the only rap song I've seen people mosh to. This CD takes that perspective and takes it to a level further. While rap/rock is far from new, this album does a good job of groundbreaking something...making "hood" rap/rock, something that I've never heard being done before.

M.O.P should get credit for the lyrics, and the Indie band that played over their acapellas (I forget the name of the group, but they did a damn good job!)should get mad props as well. While this album isn't TOO original and won't top the charts, it is branching off into a genre of a genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Black RAGE, July 6, 2004

This album is off the heezeee. I've always loved MOP and this just shows how talented and GREAT they are. This is a str8 bangah!! It doesn't matter who you are. I've heard some rap artist try to attempt the "rock thing" but they end up makin' themselves look real bad (ex: Blade 2 soundtrack). MOP are amazing. If you want a good rock album with tight azz rhymes that will get you hype, then buy this album.

2.0 out of 5 stars M.O.P. Does Not Rock, June 16, 2004
This review is from: Mash Out Posse (Audio CD)
I have always enjoyed M.O.P.'s aggressive style, so naturally hard guitar rifts with their lyrics would seem to go hand in hand. Unfortunately, this CD didn't do it for me. I heard a promotional copy before hearing the CD that featured six of the album's tracks with different beats. It was awesome. Then I listened to the retail version and the beats just weren't as good. `Stand Clear', which was originally featured on an Adam F project, was one of my favorite M.O.P. songs. This version butchered it and showed it no justice. `Ante Up' (listed as `Robbin' Hoodz' here), their most famous single to date, was also butchered. If you want to hear hip hop to hard guitars then you might as well put on an old Beastie Boys record.

(1.5/5 mics)

5.0 out of 5 stars MASH OUT!!!, June 10, 2004
This review is from: Mash Out Posse (Audio CD)
This cd is definetly worth the money.
Rock combined with some of the hardest in hip hop industry is a good mix. This is some of the coolest i`ve ever heard.
There are a few lyrics that we`ve heard before, but with that raw energy M.O.P. brings, this is an ground shaking album.
This might be devestating to your ear, but what u hear is not fear, it`s tha roughest album of the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars M.O.P. brings it HARD!!!, July 28, 2004
This review is from: Mash Out Posse (Audio CD)
First of all, to the reviewer that states that this album is garbage and MOP have lost their hip hop vibe, you are way out of line. Learn some facts before you type misinformed stuff. No, you won't have to wait 3 years for M.O.P to drop a new LP.

You might not know this but M.O.P is signed under the Roc aka ROCAFELLA records. This new album is not put out by the ROC because it's a side project for M.O.P aka Mash Out Posse. This is NOT a follow up to MOP's Warriorz LP. That is why they are using their different name "Mash Out Posse" to release this stuff. The follow up to Warriorz is done and will be released soon, whenever it gets a date.

This CD is a side project for MOP to tour with this summer with Linkin Park. Linkin invided MOP, Snoop and some other rappers to come and join them on tour this summer. Even Snoop Dogg did a rock song for that event. Never the less, this CD is BANGIN!!! If you liked MOP's faster pased songs over some guiter beats, you'l LOVE this whole album. This is an album to work out to. Bring it to the gym and you'll be set. Be ware, this is MOP at its hardest. Even though I'm NOT a hard rock fan, this albums tracks are very well put together. The two also deliver great verses that can match and surpass their earlier stuff.

Go pick up this LP if you like Hard Core Hip Hop laced with some good guiter and drum beats. Don't think Ice T's bodycount...think MOP's own song of off First Family 4 Life LP "Alarm Blaze feat. Jay Z and Tef". That song can very well describe this album. It's hard and pure Hip Hop. But, this album has way more in store that just that...pick it up and be ready to Mash it Out with the Posse, if you will, lol.

This album is so hot! I picked it up on a humble i was out with my girfriend in her car with no RAP music to listen to i ran into a record Store and this was the only mop album i didn't have, when i scanned the back i saw some of my favorite cuts from M.O.P. so i thought it was a remix album. Dayum was I wrong! M.O.P. kills it over metal\hardcore guitar riffs son please believe me this album is FIIIIIIRE! 1 of my all time favorite M.O.P. tracks is "It's that Simple" the reggae beat the sampled from Bob marley is sick and it works so well performed by a rock band (stands to reason but I was sure they were gonna mees it up) All i can say is if you are a fan of M.O.P. this album is a tight addition to your collection! one
