Product Description

Size: Large

From the leaders in pulse oximetry, the ISPO2 pulse Oximeter allows you to noninvasively track and trend blood oxygenation (SpO2), pulse rate (PR), and perfusion index (PI) - even during movement and low blood flow to the finger. With the free Masimo ISPO2 application, you can graphically view your SpO2 and PR measurement history over time and share that data through email. The ISPO2 features the same Masimo SET technology found in hospitals worldwide. The ISPO2 will be useful to anyone interested in measuring blood oxygen and pulse rate, such as hikers and climbers, as well as pilots and passengers. Not intended for medical use. SIZING: For sizing, we recommend the Large size for people over 66 pounds. The Small size is recommended for those under 110 pounds. If you are between 66 and 110 pounds, we recommend the Small size if you have slender fingers.

Works as advertised, with the exception of recording time. It states it will record up to 12 hours of data at a time, but from a fully charged iPhone 5, I was only able to get 3 hours of recording before the battery was drained. If there was a way to power the phone and record data at the same time it would have received 5 stars.

I just wish it better data control, and a few other features that should be simple to implement.

1) an alarm for low O2 levels. It's not that hard to add.
2) better control over graphing
3) longer recording, turn off screen after a few minutes to extend battery life.

a few more, but the above 3 would make the product much more useful.

If you have any sort of sleep disorder (among other conditions), then you may want a pulse oximeter to help you check your O2 levels throughout the day or night. Although there are plenty of stand-alone devices, those that are accurate and can record O2 levels over time are fairly expensive.

Enter the Masimo, and now you have an accurate pulse oximeter that can be plugged into your iPhone, and mobile software can be used to collect and display the data. This is definitely the trend for personal healthcare devices.

I did have a few issues getting the software to run - crashed a few times, and hung my phone a few others. Still, I'd say it generally works fine, and should be reliable enough for most uses. It's pretty basic stuff, but I'm sure there will be future releases adding features and capabilities without forcing me to go out and buy another unit every time.

Definitely worth a look if you require a convenient way to record O2 levels.

I am a nurse and was surprised to discover that this ispo2 pulse ox was identical (shape, design, brand with the exception of the connection point) to the pulse ox I use at my hospital. Correspondingly, I put the ispo2 pulse ox I purchased on my finger and the hospital pulse ox on the same finger opposite hand to test accuracy. Readings were virtually identical, with a variance of only 1% from one O2 sat to another. I was almost scared people would think I was stealing a hospital O2 sat when I put the one I purchased in my bag after testing it as it was virtually the same monitor. Of note I purchased the small O2 sat by accident, and am 130lbs. Interestingly enough the small O2 sat appears to be what my hospital is using too. I suppose they only order smalls as they are a Childrens hospital; however most of my kids on my floor are audulescents and exceed the weight limit for the small, some by many pounds. They have not provided the staff with an alternate O2 sat for larger kids. Never released there were two sizes until order my own. Thus, I am keeping the small as I have small fingers and am making the assumption if it is good enough for my hospital (a top ranked hospital) and my patients it is good for me :) have yet to fully test app so can not comment too much on that end of things...

Device works great with my Ipad. Purchased it to do a sleep study. The data for 9 hours is easy to load into Microsoft Excel and plot for the whole night. Found that back sleeping is bad, side sleeping much better.

Nearly perfect. Best yet! This is my third pulse ox meter. First one that's connected. The graphic beats have helped us identify a mild arythmia which I'd felt, but no one's seen it. Now they can. I find the beat audio helpful since it tracks by tone the beats. Higher pitch for faster beats. Connected easily to my iPad. Haven't tried the phone, but iPad is fine.
I would agree with one reviewer that the "history" is not simple to see, but I honestly haven't studied the directions. I'm very glad I upgraded to this device.

I love my Massimo iSpO2! I am a paramedic and this sensor has outperformed the Nelcor sensor attached to my $20,000 cardiac monitor! I have used dozens of different varieties of Nelcor sensors and this one runs circles around them all. I have had my iSpO2 pick up on low perfusing Pts when nothing else would. The perfusion index gives me much more confidence in the veracity of the readings. The Apple app could use some more sophistication when it comes to displaying and exporting the history data. The sensor does use significant amounts of battery and you can't charge it while using it. The cable is somewhat short at about 2 to 2.5 feet. My only regret is now that I have had the iSpO2 a month, Massimo has announced the MightySat.

Good enough for spot monitoring, but unit shuts off if anything gets slightly out of position. Useless for overnight oximetry. Cord also too short. Plan to return device.

Fine if you want to run your IPAD all night...oh, that requires taking it off sleep mode.. This must be plugged into a device to work at all,
