5.0 out of 5 stars Definately catchy
I bought this when the movie came out, and I am totally satisfied. There are some really good songs, most of which have a swing flair to them, by a wide variety of artists. Some of my favorites are:

HI DE HO by K7 - K7 is normally a freestyle artist, and I guess this song is still freestyle, but there is a definate swing/big band flavor in this song. I really like...

1.0 out of 5 stars A disappointment
I am always disappointed when I buy a soundtrack that has been re-recorded, especially by different artists than were in the movie version. That's what happened here. Why not leave well enough alone or make sure the cover lets the buyer know it has been re-recorded. The music was okay but didn't have the excitement that came in the movie music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definately catchy, June 5, 2001
This review is from: The Mask: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I bought this when the movie came out, and I am totally satisfied. There are some really good songs, most of which have a swing flair to them, by a wide variety of artists. Some of my favorites are:

HI DE HO by K7 - K7 is normally a freestyle artist, and I guess this song is still freestyle, but there is a definate swing/big band flavor in this song. I really like it, and I think it's really catchy. HEY PACHUCO by ROYAL CROWN REVIEW - This is an awesome upbeat song with some great instrumentals. The intro is upbeat and adrenalizing, and this whole song gets you pumped up. The only confusing part is the whole tempo change in the song, but other than that it's perfect. THE BUSINESS OF LOVE by DOMINO - This is a very sexy jazz/blues song that I personally think is the best on here. The vocal style in which it is sung makes it sound even better.

So, overall, this is a great soundtrack with some pretty interesting material. I'd definately buy it. If you are hesitant (Because some of the songs are a bit different), then just buy it used.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Soundtrack, November 13, 2003

This review is from: The Mask: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I loved The Mask. Jim Carrey was fantastic in it. I loved the music in the movie. All the songs from the movie and more are on this hit soundtrack.

I like hearing Jim Carrey sing. He does Cuban Pete in it. He did Cuban Pete in the movie with that funny dance scene. Carrey actually has a decent voice and as one of his fans I enjoyed hearing him sing.

This soundtrack has a mix of famous groups and people. Vannesa Williams, Harry Connick Jr., Brian Setzer Orchestra to name just a few.

Fans of swing will really get a kick out of this. You'll like Hey Pacuco and Cuban Pete. It's got some great horn work on the soundtrack.

I love this cd. If you liked The Mask, you'll like this soundtrack. It's a fun mix of music that makes me want to watch the movie every time I hear it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great movie even greater hits!, February 24, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Mask: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
What can I say about the mask, hmm..... Well, for one thing, it is my absolute favorite movie of all time! After seeing it 138 times,(no lie!) I have practically memorized all the songs. And, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of waiting for that one part in the movie to listen to a particular song! I am however a huge fan of the soundtrack! Because, I can listen to each of these great hits without watching the movie! I rate this CD 5 out of 5 stars! Jim Carrey was a fantastic actor in the movie and, he had a pretty good voice on the soundtrack! Who knew? BUY THIS CD!!! JIM CARREY ROXZ!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Fun, June 3, 1998
This review is from: The Mask: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
This CD is just really, really fun! From Jim Carrey's hilarious rendition of Cuban Pete to Vanessa Williams slow, jazzy "You Would Be My Baby," the album has one entertaining song after another. Even if you didn't like the movie or never saw it, the soundtrack is well worth having. Other highlights are the catchy "I Could Only Whisper Your Name" and all the big band music. The movie may not have been great, but the soundtrack rocks. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Soundtracks Ever!, July 30, 2002
This review is from: The Mask: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
For me, it's the best soundtracks ever with just amazing jazz/swing type of songs with one hip hop beat from K7 with Hi-De-Ho. Harry Connick's "Whisper Your Name" is an amazing jazz funk song, as well as "The Business of Love" by the Domino. Brian Setzer's up-tempo jazz blues with "Straight Up" is also a great one to listen to. And of course, the star of the movie, Jim Carrey does it really well with the opening and ending songs, Cuban Pete.

1.0 out of 5 stars broken and unreadable, July 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Mask: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I got a good price for a "used-like new" the Mask soundtrack, and when I opened the package and saw cd case broke a little I was ok with it since I only paid $3.37 but to find back of cd was cracked in 2 places is the reason for my negative review.
