I made my first sponge pudding in this recently, and it came out perfectly. I strongly recommend this style of basin for any English pudding novice hoping to learn the craft. The lip juts out just enough to hold the kitchen string.

I've been looking for the perfect size Mason Cash pudding basin for a Christmas pudding and this is definitely the one. The description says it's 1.9 liters but the bottom of the bowl is stamped with "1.75 litres." Most of the Christmas pudding instruction videos I've been watching seem to use a smaller (like a 1-liter) basin but this seems like a better size to me. Last year I used a bigger basin than this but I've learned that a Christmas pudding is very rich and people usually only want a small piece. I'm looking forward to using it this year, it's perfect.

I love this beautiful little "pudding basin". The size (7.75") is nice for mixing up a pan of cornbread or biscuits. It is a deep bowl, so batter doesn't fall out when I am mixing. It has a nice hefty feel to it--not thin and cheap. I love the creamy white color, too. It would go with any kitchen. I think it would make a nice gift, filled with a spoon, a pot holder, a mix, some spices, a recipe or two and a small loaf of bread.

These bowls from Mason Cash have countless uses and I don't know of anything else in the market to equal them. I use them for cooking, mixing and daily uses such as soup and cereal. They keep hot food very hot and their depth and weight keep spillage to a minimum. I have given them twice as gifts and they were well received.

I love this bowl. It's easy to grip, doesn't slip out of my hands. This bowl is great not only for steamed puddings, but mixing and baking as well. I keep my dishes in an open cabinet and it looks great. The plain white simplicity complitments any decor and any dishes. I plan to buy the matching two bowls.

This is an exact replica of the old-fashioned ceramic pudding bowls my Mother used when making the Christmas puddings. I have one of the originals dating back to the 1950's and this is exactly the same. I was very happy to find these.

This is the largest of three, graduated sizes of Mason Cash pudding basins I've gotten; and they nestle together quite well. I really like the weight and feel of them, and find that the smooth glaze makes it easy to turn out the pudding. It's a wee bit too large to fit in my pressure cooker, but I expect to use it in another pot, or to microwave puddings in it. The well defined rims of the Mason Cash pudding basins make them easy to tie on paper and foil lids, and the string stays in place well when lifting the basin out with a string handle.

I bought 4 sizes of this bowl. I had another set of three for years and when it was taken I set out to replace. I didn't know the size of my largest so I got two that were close in size, as well as two others, a small and medium. They are my "go to" bowls when I am mixing up things or cutting up fresh fruit or....a hundred and 1 things.
