5.0 out of 5 stars Here's a "Masquerade" you don't want to miss!, April 24, 2006
By

(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Masquerade: Liberty, Fidelity, Eternity/A Duplicitous Facade/Love's Unmasking/Moonlight Masquerade (Heartsong Novella Collection) (Paperback)
The stories behind the illusive mask in this historical romance anthology offer a mysterious thread that stretches across almost 75 years. From 1792 to 1865, the same feathered mask appears in the lives of four different heroines, all from different stations of life, who encounter relationships that aren't what they seem. The authors beautifully tied their stories together with colorful characters, rich settings, and heartfelt drama. It was a delight to step back into the past and experience all four of these romantic adventures! Congratulations to Bonnie Blythe, Pamela Griffin, Tamela Hancock Murray, and Jill Stengl for crafting such a fascinating collection of stories!

3.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Stories about Faith & Love! (Rated 3.5), April 10, 2009
This review is from: Masquerade: Liberty, Fidelity, Eternity/A Duplicitous Facade/Love's Unmasking/Moonlight Masquerade (Heartsong Novella Collection) (Paperback)
Masquerade is the story of a mask and four young ladies who wear it! Passed down through the century, the mask is given to each young lady to wear at a Masquerade Ball. At the ball, each young lady will have her faith tested and find true love forever.

Liberty, Fidelity, Eternity:
This is story takes place in Paris 1792 during the Revolution. Although Justine loves her father, she does not want to marry the cruel man he has picked for her. Justine instead is in love with one of her father's houshold servants, who is kind and loving, and has a passion for the same God she serves. In the end, when Justine's life is in danger, her father must decide to faith in God, and choose the right husband!

A Duplicitous Facade
In England 1812, Melodia must travel to marry a man she has never met under her father's bidding. When her new husband asks her to throw a Masquerade Ball, Melodia sees a mysterious women flirting with him. Although Melodia does not know who it is, she will do anything do save her marriage and attain her husband's love. In the end, Melodia finds the mysterious women to someone quite surprising!

Love's Unmasking
In London, 1814, Amaryllis is under the charge of her great-aunt who has made a bet that she could find a husband for Amaryllis before her friend found a husband for her charge. Made to go to the ball, Amaryllis finds herself in predicament with the Viscount. The Viscount views all women of London as the same and does not think that any could be Christians. He soon finds out that his charade is not enough to keep Amaryllis away and comes to find that he does not want to!

Moonlight Masquerade
In London, 1865, Letitia is a lady's companion to her cruel cousin. On an errand for her cousin one night, Letitia is saved from being run down by a horse by a servant named Edward. Later as Letitia attends a ball as a real lady instead of a companion to her cousin, she meets up with Edward again. Through his kindness she begins to love him, but soon finds that he and several others are not who they say they are. Will she survive the ball and find true love?

These stories are very sweet and I found myself liking each story better than the last! The reason I rated this book at 3.5 is because I felt that this book in comparison to others was not as good. Some of the stories could have been more developed, but I do understand that there was not a lot of room in the book to that. Overall, still a wonderful book about faith and love!
