Very good illustrations of costumes, when people actually were creative, clever and gave costumes some thought.

This is a nicely done book, but there isn't much in it other than pictures such as you see on the cover. I was hoping for more details, not just illustrations only.

You won't regret buying this book.
If you're interested in costumes or illustrations from the 50's, then this book will absolutely delight you! Full of lovely (and often hilarious) costume designs, from a pretty Elephant to an Atomic Bomb.. and all perfectly feminine and wearable.

Enchanting costume images in Masquerade,
By Decophile (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Masquerade: Costume Inspirations 1920s-1950s (Hardcover)
Masquerade: Costume Inspirations 1920s-1950s offers dozens of colorful, clever costume illustrations from those eras. The images are inspiring and delightful. The illustrations are from antique pattern catalogs, so each era retains its appropriate look. By that I mean that 1950s women are clearly drawn in the style of that era, and so on. My only quibble is that there could have been even more illustrations - there were loads of costume patterns made during that era.

Great Resource for Costume Ideas,
This review is from: Masquerade: Costume Inspirations 1920s-1950s (Hardcover)
Hi All,
This is a great book full of very imaginative ideas for some spectacular costumes for children as well as adults. There are only illustrations no instructions so this is definitely for people who like to make their own patterns. And what a challenge some of them would present.
