5.0 out of 5 stars Very strong hard rock album, April 10, 2002

Best known for his amazing solos with Winger in the 90's and more recently as Dokken's guitarist, this is Reb's first solo outing and a very good job he's done to!

Unlike a lot of flashy lead guitar players who use their solo albums as a release from their normal songwriting styles or to record hit and miss instrumental affairs, Reb has produced a fine hard rock album.

Reb does pretty much everything on the album and does a fantastic job on lead vocals - sounding far better than Kip Winger - and not a million miles away from Don Dokken on his later releases. Needless to say the guitar playing is top notch and features plenty of flashy guitar solos.

The album should appeal to fans of bands like Winger, Dokken,& John Norum.

Recommended if you're bored with the nu-metal sound!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reb Beach steps into his own w/o Dokken or Winger!, March 17, 2004

Wow, if it's a Top 10 album contender for 2002 is was Reb Beach's
Massquerade album. Can this guy sing! And play a guitar! I was never a fan of Winger (and it didn't have anything to do with Beavis & Butthead either!), but Winger to me just didn't rock although I did like their 1993 effort Pull. It had some good rockers on there. When Reb joined Dokken for 1999's Erase the Slate that really opened my ears to the guitarist. What a great album that was, it made me say "George Lynch who?"
No, Reb is no George Lynch, but George Lynch is no Reb Beach either. I like both guitarist. I think after gambling and picking up this album, I like Reb a little more now. This is by far the best I ever heard from Reb. He smokes on this. The songs rock, hard and slow, and are melodic, cathcy, and have that bite to them. Reb is also an accomplished vocalist.
Far better than Don Dokken is now a days anyways. Lyrically this is a very catchy album, but please note that Reb does have an outside lyricalist penning most of the words. Someone named Bill Hickey. But I guess that is good as all the songs are awesome. There is not one dinker on this entire CD although I must warn you. I do not have the track Day of the Eagle (Robin Trower cover) on my CD. Although it is listed on all the track play and inserts it is no where on here!!! That was a bit of a let down but i cannot blame the artist as the record company screwed it up. All-in-all an awesome listen, you must get this
if you love hard rock!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty, November 12, 2005
This review is from: Masquerade (Audio CD)
I've followed Reb around for quite some time and this album is, infacto, mucho outstanding. Vocals are quite strong, no Don Dokken but good nonetheless. Outstanding guitar work, simply blows George Lynch in the weeds. I like Lynch but after hearing Reb replace George....No contest. Two different styles ya know. Reb nailed a good one to the wall with this and has not waivered musically, which always keeps the original fan base. Keep it up, Reb!
