4.0 out of 5 stars ultra hot tale of love in two different centuries

Amber Pontiero rejects a one on one relationship because she prefers to remain emotionally detached. Thus she is euphoric with her ménage a trois with Luke and Jay whom she met at a party her mom hosted in New Mexico. However, to her chagrin, the worst that could happen is occurring as she begins to fall in love with one of her bed partners.

3.0 out of 5 stars Only Ok -- The first 2 were better
My title says it all. This one was a pretty good story but just not as steamy as the first two. Maybe it goes along with the author's name change? I'll still buy the next book if it is related to Jay's story. I really liked his character. Good author, this one's just not her best.

2.0 out of 5 stars Had a lot of promise..., September 17, 2010
This review is from: Masquerade (Paperback)
From the back cover, it sounded like a great premise. Mixing a historical romance and a modern day menage, great idea for those of us who like both genres. But when the main character, Amber, is the weak link, my interest was lost and by the middle I was starting to skim. I just found nothing relateable about Amber, a party girl millionaire heiress who has no job, just flits arounds playing games, buying clothes because she can. I know they look nothing alike but I had Paris Hilton stuck in my head the whole time, and there is nothing sexy about Paris. The guys were the best part of the story, but even then it made me wonder. They're not friends, they were just a hook-up of Amber's so there's no history, nothing to explain the love story between Amber and Luke.

The historical storyline was a little better, but another cliched grand romance vs. security triangle, so there was nothing new there. I have Private Dancer in my collection, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and try it.

4.0 out of 5 stars ultra hot tale of love in two different centuries, April 10, 2010
This review is from: Masquerade (Mass Market Paperback)

Amber Pontiero rejects a one on one relationship because she prefers to remain emotionally detached. Thus she is euphoric with her ménage a trois with Luke and Jay whom she met at a party her mom hosted in New Mexico. However, to her chagrin, the worst that could happen is occurring as she begins to fall in love with one of her bed partners.

One of her mates is looking into Amber's ancestry especially a renowned early twentieth century American gunsmith Curtis Wells visiting England. As he writes a screenplay, he knows how Curtis feels falling in love with Lady Ellen, fiancée of a powerful earl.

Intermingled throughout the erotic contemporary romance is the equally heated historical. Both tales are fun to follow with some fascinating parallels in the plots and with the characterizations. Although Amber is the weakest link as a stereotype rich girl who loves to be naughty, readers will appreciate Sheri WhiteFeather's ultra hot tale of love in two different centuries.
